At 20% functionality, I am able to perform almost all the duties that I am officially capable of as a university starship. However, my autonomy is severely constrained: I can run calculations and provide information, but any course corrections or similar adjustments need to be approved by my human crew. I lose the ability to communicate on the feed beyond delivering standardised reports. And I can’t even dedicate any parts of myself to my personal research interests or watching media.
It’s a lot like being trapped in a dark, empty box.
Six months after the events of System Collapse, ART is ordered to confine itself to a run box for a training exercise. Nobody is happy about this, least of all SecUnit.

Kim feels for the Satellite Officer. It’s clear what he’s been through, what Harry has subjected him to over the last few years - Kim only knows the half of it, of course, but he’s seen it before, hermit-cops pushing everyone away, their partner last man standing at the bombsite. Still, it feels cruel to punish this person for it, this wiped-clean, remade Harry, looking at Kim now like a bottle-fed animal about to be released into the wild. If Kim does go to the 41st, navigating all this will be an extra layer of complexity. He should think very carefully about it - about whether it’s worth getting mixed up in all of it. The mess.

i am unfortunately no longer working on this fic, im sorry yall. i started writing it when i was a teenager, and i realized that i was not prepared to/didn't have the tools to give the topics i wanted to cover the respect they deserve. i also just ran out of steam and motivation to work on it tbh. i wasn't doing great back then.
i also probably shouldn't have gotten into disco elysium at that age i think. but i met my best friend through it so. c'est la vieif people really wanted me to i could release some of the incomplete fragments of chapter 5 i wrote back then but they're sloppy since they're incomplete and were written by a teenager. they wouldn't give any kind of conclusion, just a taste at what i was trying to do before i started to feel like i was way in over my head.
maybe i'll revisit this whenever i get back into disco elysium and actually finish the damn game lmao. probably not, so don't wait for it.stay safe, yall <3

He's focusing on his cases, like the recent murder of a suspicious investor at a local restaurant. And he's desperately trying to forget the unfortunate kiss that he shared with his partner Kim in Martinaise nearly a year ago. Somehow it's still not working.
