“On it.” Dick sprang to his feet and rolled his shoulders back, and suddenly Nightwing wasn’t just a story Clark had shared with a little boy all those years ago. “That’s my cue. See you around, Supes.”
“Of course. Real quick, though,” Clark added, a little desperate. “If he’s not like…that, then what is Bruce actually like when he’s drunk?”
“My friend,” Dick said, holding Clark by the shoulders in mock seriousness. “Perhaps one day you will know—but today is not that day.”
“Right, of course, sure.” Bats and their secrets. “Be careful out there, buddy.”
“Always am,” Dick said, lying through his teeth as he dropped ever so casually from the building.

He looked at Bruce, standing with his shoulders squared and his profile set in that expensive way that used to put Jason’s guard up on instinct (before he’d lived here long enough to realise that Bruce just naturally looked like that). The uncanny stillness of him. The set of his jaw. The refusal to concede a single inch of ground on something he'd already decided. All of that pride.
He looked at Lantern. All forward momentum and barely-contained energy. He looked pissed, but the kinda pissed that resembled enjoyment if you squinted. It was the expression of a guy who wanted to be heard and was also, somewhere underneath the frustration, not entirely miserable about the company. Lantern was always like that with Bruce, even though he’d often misjudge or misunderstand the way B went about life. One might say he was filled with prejudice…
It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single weirdo in possession of a billion bucks, must be in want of companionship. Unfortunately, Bruce doesn’t seem to be doing much to fix that.
That’s okay, because he has Jason, and Jason has a plan.

“Occupied!” he called, like he was in a toilet stall. Which probably told him a lot about his social instincts under pressure. It came out as a muffled ‘O-u-ied’ because his stupid mouth was full and he was actively trying to hide the canapé tray under the armchair.
“Oh,” a deep voice said from the door. “I didn't realise this room was taken.”
After being enlisted to a fancy party well beyond his class, Hal finds himself in the company of a handsome stranger.

That's what the whole batfamily was thinking as they stared at the screen in a mix of horror, shock, disbelief and honest befuddlement. Because right there on the screen was the proof of seven separate tests trying to verify if this was real or if it was all just an honest mistake on their part running the tests.
