She’s glad to still have some decent reflex in her, moving the pointy end of the pole up like a spear against Shauna’s anger. The whittling project was to give it more grip, but Jackie doesn’t mind the additional benefits when it graces Shauna’s stomach and she flinches back. Jackie bears her own teeth in a grin.
“Alright, knock it off!” Nat steps between them, pushing the crutch down with one hand and holding the other out in warning toward Shauna. “This thing is for morale, people. Don’t bring your bullshit into it.” She mostly directs it at Shauna, and Jackie revels in that.
Shauna slips into her silent-rage-face, aware that there’s no winning once Natalie has drawn the line. She rolls her eyes, huffs, and walks away.
