Summary
When Phainon was a little boy, his best friend Cyrene, went missing in the woods.
Bordering the town of Aedes Elysian, there was a dense forest, said to be full of magic. And in that forest, stood an old castle occupied by a beast. Phainon has always thought the castle was somehow tied to his friend’s disappearance. So when his parents, led by unfortunate circumstances, get indebted to the Lord of the castle, Phainon decides to take their place.
However, when he gets to the castle, instead of a beast, he meets Anaxagoras, the castle’s chamberlain.
Anaxa sets some rules for him to follow. (You already know number one and two.) Rule number three: Do not inquire about the eyepatch. Rule number four: All rooms are up for exploration, except for the west tower. As Phainon works to pay off his debt, he tries to uncover the secrets of the castle.

Corruption runs deep in the Grove of Epiphany. Generations of rulers played into the hands of the Council of Elders, corrupt with greed and hungry for a power they could swipe from the royal family without any blame falling upon themselves. With Anaxagoras the Tyrant at the helm, feared by all for his alchemy experiments and twisted laughter, the Council could get away with the most heinous crime so long as they attach his name to it.
But Anaxa is no fool. When he's gifted a man from the neighbouring kingdom of Aedes Elysiae as a peace offering, he finds his perfect opportunity. If Phainon is willing to sacrifice himself for the sake of his own people, then surely, he could understand Anaxa's true motivation: to take down the corruption from within, and rid Amphoreus of its looming devastation.
Unfortunately, the only viable path to rebellion is destruction Phainon must bring with his own two hands to the man he's fallen in love with.

"Can you explain this?!" Hyacine exclaimed as she practically ran into Anaxa's office. Pushing her phone into his face, Anaxa knew where this was going. He sighed at the article on the screen:
Dromify's CTO Anaxagoras caught holding hands with mystery man during incognito outing.
The only answer Hyacine got was a shrug. She huffed and pointed out the office's window to the good-looking guy sitting outside who was playing with the hem of his sweater. "You brought your lover to the office?!"
Anaxa snorted, "He's not my lover."
"Then who is he?!"
From the other side of the glass, Phainon caught Anaxa's eyes. With a big smile on his face, he waved.
"My pet frog."
Following Hyacine's terrible idea, CTO Anaxa kisses his cute pet frog only for it to unexpectedly turn into a handsome young man that claims to be the deliverer of an ancient civilization. Now, Anaxa has to help him accustom to modern society, which goes as well as you may think.
