Damon could barely keep his eyes open. He would shield himself from the nothingness if he had the strength to move from where he stood. On what? Was there even a floor here? Where was here? He still hadn't figured that out.
Everything's a blur, just lumps of colors behind his eyelids, distant voices, and a dull ache in his stomach. Damon's tongue darted out over his bottom lip, but his mouth had gone completely sour, deprived of any moisture.
He… what was he doing?
'I died.'
It's a bitter, dreadful whisper in the back of his mind, one that's all too familiar.
'I died again.'

After the third trial, Ken mechanically made his way back to his dorm, breaking down as soon as the door was closed. The weight of what he’d lost today finally set in: Kazutoshi was dead, and it was his fault. He cried himself to sleep that night, with regret on his mind.
The following morning, Ken woke up terrified and cold…
Wait, cold?
He heard a voice then, and when he turned his head, he met red, tired eyes. Kazutoshi was there, in his bed. Whole and alive, his head still on his shoulders, his tongue still in his mouth… and absolutely no idea he was supposed to be dead.
Ken understood then that he was given another chance. And this time, he’d make sure Kazutoshi survived this nightmare. -

A year has passed since the sudden fire at the La Gueule de Saturne and Rody is dealing with the PTSD from it horribly, having been reduced to a husk of a man he once was. After being suggested to go to a therapist by a co-worker, he decides it wouldn't hurt to try and hopes that this will help ease the burden of keeping his and his late boss's crimes a secret.
Unfortunately, it seems the universe had other plans and undermined the entire point of therapy. What's suppose to be an escape from bruising guilt and regret has instead served as a match to the fire burning away at the waiter's sub-conscious.
Especially after finding that the main reason he was now struggling wasn't as buried as he had once believed.
