Summary
Eighteen-year-old Iwaizumi Hajime sat waiting in the fast-moving train towards the Capitol when a door slid open and a raging Oikawa Tooru stormed over to him. Iwaizumi had barely gotten up from his seat when his best friend’s—and mentor’s—hand struck him across the face with full force. His yelling rumbling through the entire train:
“Why, Iwaizumi. WHY would you do this to me?! You promised me to never volunteer. You PROMISED me.”
“Yes,” Iwaizumi deadpanned, anger marking his voice, his eyes sharp as they dug into Oikawa’s tear-filled ones for the first time in years. “And you promised me to not let the Capitol change you. That you would come back to me. You broke both those promises. So now it was my turn to break mine.”
It’s been four years since Oikawa Tooru won the 69th Hunger Games and now he is forced to watch and mentor his best friend Iwaizumi as he will enter the Arena that destroyed both their lives—all this while being forced to continue his work as the Capitol’s most attractive and charming “darling,” that is—their favourite whore.

Summary
"There is a next time… right?" the boy asked, suddenly sounding uncertain. He stared at Hajime with wide, hopeful eyes, hands twisting up the hem of his shirt. "You won't forget me?"
"I won't ever forget you," Hajime promised, as steady as the pounding of his heart.
The boy's expression brightened into a relieved smile.
"Then come find me, Iwa-chan!"

Summary
Oikawa Tooru is doing fine.
At least, that’s what he tells everyone. With a smile that never falters and sleeves that cover just enough, he plays the role of the perfect captain, the perfect student, the perfect image. But late-night practice sessions, bruised shoulders, and purple lines hidden under his uniform say otherwise.
Perfection comes with a price, and Tooru pays it quietly—through overwork, through exhaustion, and eventually through wounds no one’s supposed to see. It starts with missing sleep and ends with a blade hidden behind trophies he no longer looks at.
No one notices. Except Iwaizumi Hajime.
But by the time he realizes something’s wrong, it might already be too late.

Summary
Oikawa always knew he was meant for greater things—and he never hesitated to chase them.
Even if it meant leaving Japan.
Even if it meant leaving Iwaizumi.
Even if it meant walking away from the only love he’s ever known how to give.
He told himself he was doing the right thing. That distance was clean. That silence was mercy.
Then Iwaizumi called asking him to be his best man.Bookmarked by sensivil

Summary
“Really?” Hajime questions. He reaches a hand out, and Oikawa flinches away out of reflex. The color of Iwaizumi’s arm reminds him of merciless pain. “Then why can’t I touch you, Tooru?”
Oikawa feels his hands burn. He flexes them to stop the shaking, ignoring the pain.
“Why won’t you look at me like you used to?” Hajime asks.
“I don’t know what you mean.”
“Don’t.” Hajime’s voice is sharp, and it digs into Oikawa’s skin like a thousand needles. He thinks he may be collapsing, but he’s not sure. “Don’t do that with me. Not right now.”
Or, Oikawa loves Iwaizumi. And he's never been more ruined.

Summary
But the memory of Oikawa in practice earlier replays behind his eyelids like it’s projected there—an exclusive screening, just for Iwaizumi, of the shittiest movie he’s ever seen—any time Oikawa is out of his direct line of sight. One second he’s high in the air, one arm extended in front of him like he’ll be able to pull himself higher by sheer force of will, and in the next he’s on the ground. Iwaizumi watches Watari dive for the ball under his foot just a second too late, watches as he lands on the knee in slow motion, watches his expression shift from confused to scared to pained and back to scared again as he lies motionless on the floor, hands hovering just over his displaced kneecap like he’s afraid to touch it.

Summary
How Oikawa grows up, and the spaces Iwaizumi fills.
He used to be honest with his therapists, when he was younger, and he’d tell them [...] how he’d stack big, big books under his window so he could strain up on his tip toes on them, sway half his chest out of the frame and think about falling. He said he was hoping aliens might abduct him, take him away, and they don’t call him silly but ask him what he thinks would happen if he did jump out, if he hit the floor. He always knew if he hit the stone stairs below his room he would die

Summary
“Tooru,” He says again, close enough now that he can see Tooru’s shoulders shaking, see his elbows mover as he rubs at his face. Is he crying? “Hey, Tooru, what’s wrong?” He grabs at his shoulder, and Tooru jumps at the touch.
He looks up, and Hajime flinches back in shock. There’s blood. All over Tooru’s face, smeared on his cheeks and dripping down his chin, staining his shirt.

Summary
He could hear the wind rushing by his ears, slipping through the windows and stinging across his face. His hands gripped the steering wheel tightly and his heartbroken scream echoed through the interior of the car.
The last thing that flashed through his mind was Iwaizumi's face before the screeching of tires and the grinding of metal.
----
A death in Oikawa's family turns his world upside, throwing a wrench into his carefully laid plans for the future. Now tasked with looking after his family, he finds it nearly impossible to grieve on his own. Iwaizumi is there, because Iwaizumi is always there, but Oikawa feels himself pulling farther away as he tries to piece his life back together with the stubborn independence that has the potential to destroy him.

Summary
Dying, trapped in a crack in the world, Jayce has lost almost everything- save the memories. And in the darkness those come out in terrible, technicolor clarity. Every victory, every failure, how it all began- and how it ended. Every single time he stepped over the edge. Every time he fell.
(Jayce hadn't thought anything of him at first- easy to overlook an unwanted bureaucrat- easier still, to overlook a cripple.)
(Something sly about it, the cast of that pale face. Just how bright those golden eyes were, in the black. They seemed to catch the light, reflecting it back, like those of a young fox.)
Of course, falling didn't always hurt. Once, he had fallen in love.

Summary
It was easy to believe it would last forever. When they rode their bikes to the quarry and threw them against the grass, tripping over themselves to explore, to see the world. Climbing that one tree that surpassed the rest in the clearing had been the defining moment for Stan; up there, you could see anything. The whole of Derry was spread out at their fingertips, itching at their palms.
“I hope this never ends,” he had told Bill one night, sprawled out across the field, air rapidly cooling.
Bill had confided back, whispered like a secret, dying seconds away into the night. “Yeah. Me neither.”
