“Tell me, omega, what are your skills and strengths?” The shugo asks him, expression full of curiosity as he waits for Giyuu’s answer.
“Well, I can do mostly anything,” Giyuu hurries to explain, thinking it’ll help prove he is the furthest thing from a criminal. “I can clean, farm, help with the livestock, care for pups, help in the garden, somewhat cook, help tutor, do some manual labor, guard, and maintain a household,” he lists off the skills he’s acquired over the last three years and some he was taught.
The shugo cocks his head to the side before looking between Giyuu and Obanai. “Hm, very well, I think I might have just the position for you,” he confesses, giving Giyuu a smile that showcases his sharp, alpha teeth, honestly looking quite menacing. “Please escort him to the Shinazugawa Estate. I have important matters to attend to before it gets too late,” he orders Obanai. “Please tell my little brother to expect me for dinner.”
giyuu, a runaway noble omega with no desire to settle anywhere, somehow gets hired as the housekeeper working at the estate of the province's shugo, shinazugawa sanemi.

“Don’t you remember?” Lucas asked softly. “When we were kids? Like, sixth grade. We all said we’d be in each other’s weddings.” He chuckled. “And Mike called dibs on being my best man, and then you and Dustin started freaking out, because you were both gonna call dibs, so I said you could all do it. Remember? I need all my best men.”
Will puffed out his cheeks, running a hand through his hair. He already hadn’t lived up to that twice now. He’d missed Dustin’s wedding, he hadn’t even been invited to Mike’s (not that he’d expected to be.) This was his last shot.
And something about it seemed final. If he missed this, then that was it. He had no doubt they’d still try to reach out, but it wouldn’t be the same. He would’ve broken something he couldn’t fix.
He sighed.
“Okay.”
Ten years after the end of the world, Lucas and Max get married.
