He lived and breathed after swords slashed him from limb to limb, after bullets tore through soft flesh and embedded themselves into bone, after those bones had broken, after arteries torn.
All men must die, but still Nicky lived.
But not for forever.

Marti waved a hand between them, “Yeah, yeah, yeah, I fixed it.”
Elia leaned back in his seat, arm no longer reached out to smack Gio’s stomach. “Fixed it? Fixed what?”
“Your party,” Marti shrugged, looking the epitome of bored grace and chill. He calmly opened a bag of chips, stealing one, before handing the bag to Nico, “I fixed it. Filippo agreed to let us have it as his place on Friday.”

He smacks the book away and growls. She sniffs delicately, “You focus.”
“You know, I like it better when you weren’t hanging around back-talking thirteen year olds. You’re learning bad habits.”

Devil’s Minion Week 2026 — Day 1
Prompt: Transformation Trauma / Blood SharingDaniel Molloy will drink Armand’s blood from a wineglass, a tumbler, even an ancient chipped coffee mug. What he will not do is drink it directly from Armand.
At first, Armand is patient. Daniel’s transformation is still new, their reunion is even newer, and there are some intimacies that cannot simply be resumed after decades apart. But when Daniel’s reluctance begins extending beyond blood sharing, Armand is left to draw his own conclusions. Unfortunately, Armand de Romanus has never encountered an emotional misunderstanding he could not make catastrophically worse through several weeks of silent observation, increasingly elaborate seduction attempts, and a deeply unhealthy commitment to making himself useful.
Daniel, meanwhile, has been making an equally disastrous assumption of his own.
Or: Daniel is terrified that wanting too much from Armand will make history repeat itself. Armand is terrified Daniel no longer wants him at all. Neither of them thinks to actually ask until things get very, very stupid.

Daniel pressed it.
“Fine,” he said. “Whatever you say, boss.”
Or: Armand offers to teach Daniel how to survive the sun. Daniel repays him with disobedience, second-degree burns, and a nickname selected specifically to hurt his feelings. Unfortunately, boss belonged to them long before Daniel knew enough to weaponize it—and Armand has never been particularly good at leaving buried things buried.
