Like a predator, careful and quiet as it stalks its prey, he inched closer to Hosea’s sleeping spot and froze, afraid to move. He glanced once more at his friend, sprawled out beneath him, and his breath caught in his throat, the tightness in his pants becoming uncomfortable.
"Hosea?" Dutch called softly. When no answer came, he repeated the question louder. And this time, the only response was silence as well.
Good.
OR: After drinking together, Hosea passes out, and Dutch can’t control himself when he really needs to.

Dutch was used to being abruptly woken up in the middle of the night; whether it be by a wild animal sniffing around his stuff or because someone he pissed off decided to try and kill him, Dutch was always at the ready at any slight noise. That isn’t to say that he isn’t confused as to what wakes him tonight, as he doesn’t particularly spot anything out of the ordinary around the little makeshift camp.
