Summary
Objectively, turning down the invitation to her close friend's wedding was probably the best choice for everyone involved.
There were too many things that made her sick to her stomach: knowing she could be spending time studying for med school, going back to the place she spent three weeks every summer at and knowing any nostalgia is replaced with bitterness, seeing the literal devil drooling over Xie Lian and doing anything her friend says, a crowd of people who were constantly dragging her into shenanigans, watching different couples suck face, being flirted with by the fucking flower boy, being forced into luxury dressing rooms, the overwhelming sense of guilt she feels at what has happened in the past and having to face it, forcing herself to not cry upon seeing her friend in a wedding dress (it was a beautiful dress in her defense!), and seeing the way Feng Xin had changed in different (and very [un]attractive) ways.
Between whispered conversations underneath tables at restaurants, plans being made between beach chairs, hitting their former professor in the head with a ball when scheming on the golf course, and late nights laying on the sand staring up at the sky, the wedding was doomed.

Summary
The seasons change over two hundred times, and there was no banquet that Xie Lian was able to partake in again.

Lan Zhan used to hide romance novels in his textbooks when he was in high school, and listen to beautiful instrumentals with headphones (both pieces in his ears, of course), knowing that love would make the music even more alive.
Wei Ying used to hide in the corner of the grand staircase of a family who took him in, and would listen to two grown-ups who were supposedly disgustingly in love with one another shriek at one another, with headphones blaring (both pieces in his ears, of course), knowing that spewed jealousy could make any songs of adoration ring out as if played in a graveyard.

Laughter is how this started and laughter is what rings in Lan Zhan’s ears as he lays down in his bed, his mind desperately holding onto the memory of Wei Ying’s presence.
A supercut of this warmth keeps him up, playing again and again in his heart. A smile, crinkled eyes, a dash of freckles across a tender face, a brilliant voice regardless of the loudness.
Lan Zhan closes his eyes, and wishes desperately he was lying as he whispers, “I’m in love with Wei Ying.”

Summary
After scoring perfectly on his exams for the first time, He Xuan starts his journey home to bear the good news to his family and marry his beloved that he has known since childhood.

Dragged down to ghost realm alongside his bride, he is forced to prepare for another version of their wedding, though this time, in front of the entirety of Ghost City.
To get back to the world of the living, He Xuan has to grapple with the fact he has to be deceitful to a woman who is completely besotted with him, and figuring out what about a woman with no pulse sets his heart aflame.
