Summary
Written in third person with alternating POV of Dean & Cas.
Something's changed between Dean and Castiel. Dean asks Cas to take him along wherever it is the angel goes when he's not around the Winchesters. He's curious, that's all. No feelings involved. It'll be fun. Dean's ready for Cas to take the wheel on their adventure, but turns out some feelings aren't so easy to repress when it's just the two of you.
Cas needs some time alone. It's a heavy burden hearing Dean's longing like a constant prayer while Cas is trying to resist his own feelings. Now he's stuck in LA on a case that could have taken him minutes to solve, and Dean is very distracting. Why is it they can only let their guards down when faced with losing the other?

"I'm not inebriated, nor mentally unstable."
"I—I…" Dean takes in a deep breath, then blows it out heavily. "Cas, you're not fucking with me, are you?"
"I'm not," Cas tells him.
"Okay," he says, "fuck it, let's get hitched."
"Thank you," Cas murmurs sincerely, then picks his fork back up and goes right back to eating.

🎃 I love this fic!! This is a domestic story. Sam, Dan and Cas decide to live in a house in Colorado, but after some time, Sam goes back to hunt. Dean stays behind because of his bad knee and Cas stays with him. Dean builds some beehives and they meet a cool woman named Phoenix. (Dean bakes too c:) The pining is sooo good, and Dean is a complete idiot, (Cas too). Sam is such a good brother and friend. The story alternates between them deciding to look for a new place, and the story of them living their day to day.

The first time Bobby’d seen a bruise on Dean’s young face, he couldn’t help the pulse of fear in the back of his mind. In that moment, all he could think of was his father, and he found himself wanting to kill John Winchester.
John had brushed it off with a joke about childhood scuffles, and Bobby had laughed and not mentioned it again. Maybe it had been nothing. But he had known, somehow, in that moment. He knew what it was - of course he did - and that was what sealed John’s fate. Not immediately, but from that moment on, every path led to the same inevitable moment.
