Summary
Dean and Cas have been next-door neighbors and best friends since they were both four years old. They've been through everything together. Now they’re both eighteen and Cas is secretly, hopelessly in love with Dean. After years of ignoring his burgeoning feelings, Cas finds the courage to come clean just before he moves across the country to attend college in California. Determined, Cas pours his feelings out into a letter and leaves it for Dean to find.

When Cas comes back from the Empty, Dean has to rethink everything about their relationship, and Dean’s new, post-Chuck duty.
He wants Cas to be happy and get what he wants. So, if he wants Dean, then he has him. Dean’s new responsibility is to be the best boyfriend Cas will ever want or need. If that means moving out of the bunker, and not driving the Impala, and letting Cas fuck him, then that’s what he has to do.
It’s an easy deal. It should be an easy life. So how come Dean still can’t quite make sense of it?

Ever since Cas started staying in the bunker, Dean’s been having these crazy dreams—dreams that feature him and Cas in absurd, tawdry scenarios like something out of a filthy paperback. Dean chalks it up to exhaustion, or some monster messing with his head, anything to ignore the real cause: Cas in his personal space, in various states of undress, and, wow, way more muscular than Dean would’ve expected.
But if it’s just physical lust that’s the cause, then that’s an easy fix, right? No big deal. There’s definitely nothing else that his subconscious is trying to tell him. Absolutely not.

Castiel thought about the things he knew were true. First, he was in love with Dean, had loved him for years. Second, Dean didn’t return his feelings. Dean couldn’t return his feelings. Castiel knew that Dean loved him, of course, but Dean loved him like a brother, like family. Third, Dean treated hunting as a calling. He’d told Castiel before that he knew he’d die on a hunt someday as though that was his destiny. Hunting wasn’t something Dean would readily give up.
Yet it was clear that Dean also loved Jack. He’d stepped up and acted as Jack’s father without anyone asking him to and it was a role he was well-suited to. And Castiel had found his thoughts wandering back to that one afternoon he still wished he could change, to watching Dean rake leaves in the yard of a suburban house as though there was nowhere else in the world he’d rather be.
It was that memory that had led Castiel to carefully say, “Dean, if you wanted to, you could live with Jack and I.”

🎃 Another classic. I’m not gonna lie, wingkink has never interested me, this one was the first that I read with it, but I don’t mind it. Omg the comical parts are freaking hilarious, and some of it makes me cringe so much (but obviously that’s the intention of the writer). But the fluff! It’s cute. Sam! He is so funny and supportive. And how they both fail to see that they want the same things. Uggh, it can get sad :(. There are some cool ideas about angels and their customs. I’d say it is worth reading!
