So, he did.
Bodies, mangled thin-skinned bodies scratching at the windows. Their mouths were wide open and teeth covered in black. Jon wanted to know where they came from, he needed to ask. But before he could do anything, Tim was tugging him by the arm to Artefact Storage of all things. It was underground, sure, but no way they could stay!

Blood coated the right side of his face. Glass shards were stuck to his sleeve and some were sticking out of his skin. His poor glasses were shattered and crooked, thank goodness his eyes were unharmed. Martin had never been more disheveled. He just looked completely lost, staring at Jon like whatever he was about to say was all he cared about.
“Martin!” Jon shouted, because that was his immediate instinct. He got closer, but not too close. Partially because he didn't want to scare the man away. “What… what happened?”

“Hey, Pim,” he heaved out a breath. He was still winded from the stairs. “I'm here.”
Pim wasn't saying anything, and neither was anyone else, so the shmaloogles quickly tore the kidnapping wizard to shreds. Pim squeaked.
Charlie looked at him quizzically and turned round his shoulder to actually see his face. “Man, what happened up here—?”
Muffled ‘mm’s and yelps escape Pim’s… mouth. Where was his— oh good god.

'The third time in the same week that Jon bumps into Martin, he takes it as a sign that the book is not giving up. London is a big place, after all. Luckily, Martin seems to have taken Jon's sudden interest in his after-work plans in stride, and not asked any questions, but the amount of times he has 'changed his mind' at the last minute and ended up in the exact same random café or obscure street corner as Jon is getting ridiculous.
It should not be this hard to avoid someone in the middle of the country's capital city and biggest tourist trap. At least, unless you have a supernatural monkey on your shoulder trying to turn your life into a romcom.'Or, the one where a Leitner works very hard to matchmake Jon and Martin.
