    Summary

    As far as the rest of the world knows, Desmond Miles died on December 21st, 2012. It's as much of a surprise to him when he wakes up after the end as it would be to anyone else—other people who are supposed to have died way before him, and clearly didn't, excluded.

    If someone told Desmond before he got himself kidnapped that vampires were real, he would've laughed and asked how much they had to drink, because vampires fell into the same mental category for him as the Templars. If someone told him the same thing after that, he still wouldn't have believed them, even now that he knew firsthand that the Templars were all too real.

    It's kind of hard to discount the truth when it's staring him in the face and also looks way too much like his ancestors. They all should be dead.

    But here's the thing: Desmond should be too.

    1) The Beginning of an Unlikely Friendship
    Thorin saved Legolas' life. Legolas returned the favor. A budding mutual respect/I don't hate you relationship is forming.

    Don't tell them that, though. They'll team up just to kick your ass.

    2) Unlikely Thoughts and an Unlikely Proposition
    Legolas is having a minor existential crisis as he begins to understand that Dwarves are more than greedy gold-diggers, Thorin shows himself to be a decent ruler, and they're both horrified at how civil they are towards each other.

    (Or in which Legolas is showing off his rebellious phase and consorting with Dwarves to piss off his father)

    Heartbeat Under the Mountain

    1) Heartbeat of the Mountain
    Bilbo adjusts to caring for a nephew and realizes that the Shire holds no future for him anymore. It is time to return to the mountain. With Frodo in tow, he sets off to find out if Thorin regrets his decisions and to discover if the mountain can handle not one, not two, but three troublemakers.

    2) Crafting A New Heartbeat
    The long awaited sequel to Heartbeat Under the Mountain, Thorin goes for a walk and finally gets a chance to meet his newest (and youngest) guest in the Mountain. Fluff ensues as Thorin and Frodo begin to bond.

    3) And Never the Two Shall Meet
    After several weeks in Erebor, Bilbo finally meets the Lady Dis. Somehow, the rest of the company is not as thrilled as they are. One-Shot.

    1) All Roads Go Ever On
    Six years after returning from his unexpected journey, Bilbo Baggins is forced to flee the Shire when goblins invade. He and the four young Hobbit lads he brought to Rivendell with him were the only ones to escape and are shocked to learn that the rest of their people have vanished into thin air. As an alliance of Elves, Men, Dwarves, and a wizard search for their missing people, the remaining Hobbits are granted sanctuary in the Kingdom of Erebor. However, Bilbo’s journey back to the Lonely Mountain is long and treacherous, especially when he’s being pursued by a creature that’s after his blood. Well, his bloodline.

    Or: Bilbo makes his long awaited journey back to the Lonely Mountain and it’s King.

    2) Heirloom
    “Though if you ask me, I think it's to do with the fact that we’re more like mentors to dear Merry, my brothers and I.” Dori furthered.

    Fíli let out a short, sharp laugh. “More like mothers, if you ask me.”

    Dori glowered. “I’m trying to be serious here, your Highness. He thinks differently of you - Merry.” he elaborated. “He looks up to you, yes, but there’s also a...a certain similarness that can’t be ignored.”

    Merry's twentieth birthday is approaching and there's something that seems to be troubling the young hobbit. Fíli's been tasked with discovering exactly what that may be, though he has doubts that he's the right dwarf for the job.

    The Company come to Hobbiton to reunite with their burglar and meet his nephew. Baby hobbits are altogether too small and too cute, and Dwalin should not have drunk whiskey - he can't protect them.
