Hongjoong stepped off the chair and picked it up again, glancing at the stacks where he got it from, but then settling his gaze on the custodian.
“Making questionable decisions that could cost me my job,” Hongjoong replied cryptically, holding the chair out. The confused and concerned custodian took the chair hesitantly, and Hongjoong was making his way back to the elevator.

San zips back the bag of food and is about to put it to the side to fill the water bowl now when he feels something soft bumping against his hand. He whips his head back to the bowls and realizes the cat is actually touching his hand right now. San freezes, too scared to even move the hand, simply watching as the feline nuzzles into the back of his palm and leans into it so much San can soon feel the soft fur against his wrist as well.
He wants to pet the cat so badly, but just watching it rub itself against his hand is so heart-warming, San believes he’s doing this whole ‘trust the process’ thing right. He very slowly rotates his hand until it’s palm up, observing as the kitty now nuzzles its cute little head into his sweaty palm, eyes closed and oh my fucking fuck, it’s purring.

The bathroom was occupied. Someone was in the shower, Hongjoong could see the outline of a naked body behind the frosted shower glass. He pulled his wireless headphones down to his neck slowly, frozen in place, eyes wide and unable to look away from the silhouette of the person showering behind the glass doors.
He knew San was out with Wooyoung today. So this was Seonghwa.
Not that Hongjoong couldn’t recognize the shape of his body even through obscuring glass.

”Yunho isn’t here.”
Hongjoong frowns, still feeling disoriented. “What?”
”He flew out earlier this morning, a bit after you arrived I guess. He’s on his way to Paris already.”
Hongjoong silently balks. Wait. What?
Or: Hongjoong was meant to spend his layover in L.A. with his childhood friend, Yunho. But when Yunho jumps ship in favor of pursuing his own plans, Hongjoong is left behind for a full twenty-four hours with a complete stranger—Seonghwa.
But maybe the unexpected change of plans flip Hongjoong’s world around in more ways than one.
