Summary
Each cycle has always remained the same. Every creature that lives, every event that unfolds, not one detail has ever changed. Once everything is said and done, the Harbinger awakens, guided by the Ten Kings of Diyu as he goes through the trials set by the mythical beasts guarding the Color Stones that will mend the Pillar of Heaven and continue to protect this world from the chaos that lies beyond.
As he walks through the Pillar to merge himself with it, the beings that live to see the end of the world have only minutes to think their last thoughts as the cycle resets.
To a Goddess, it's merely an end to something that will soon be reborn. To a Snake, it's a small glimpse out of the cage he's trapped in. To a King, it's both somehow a terrifying yet tranquil sight.
And to the Harbinger, it is a short experience as he only lives to die for the sake of others.
Or: The last thoughts of those who exist in and outside of the cycle as the world resets once more.
