Rocky doesn’t get it. He’ll never get it.
That’s unfair to Rocky, really, because of course his alien best friend doesn’t get it. He has different customs, different ideas of pro-social behavior, and the glaringly obvious issue of the fact that Ryland can’t seem to open his mouth and just tell him what’s wrong. It’s not Rocky’s fault, but eventually he has to tell him to “just go away,” because Rocky’s behavior is reminding him too much of the way he acted while Colt was recovering from his back injury.
Colt. His brother. He has a brother. A twin, in fact.
Or, well, he had one. That’s the problem.

Summary
The man standing in front of him was definitely a clone, alright. His hair was surprisingly shorter than Grace’s had been when he woke up. Maybe he found the scissors already. He had something closer to a beard than stubble. His nose was more crooked than Grace’s. He was wearing some of Grace’s clothes, frankly looking ridiculous in a Cats t-shirt and red jumpsuit tied at his waist.
His expression was surprisingly neutral, hands raised slightly to signify he wasn’t dangerous. “Ry?”
Grace probably looked stupid, mouth opening and closing like a fish.
“It’s me, Colt. Do you remember me?” Colt shifted his weight between his legs, nervous in a way that didn’t seem natural to a man like him.
The words on Grace’s tongue died out. His heart beat faster, his brain reaching for a memory. One second he’s on the Hail Mary, the next he’s back on Earth.

The live broadcast has taken over everything—news channels, livestreams, doctor’s offices, the muted TVs bolted into corners of cafés and airports.
The same feed repeats everywhere: the launch of the shuttle to the Hail Mary, Earth’s last desperate hope. Footage of the launch preparations alternate with prerecorded statements from world leaders, a scrolling bar of names and credentials sliding across the bottom of the screen. The astronauts’ portraits are displayed in sequence, their faces and names proudly displayed, honoring those brave ones willing to give their lives for the future of Earth.

Summary
Their trek through broken stairwells and crumbling hallways was brutal. The two of them struggled to haul their exhausted bodies through tighter and tighter crevices, but they pushed through the pain, praying to whatever god might be listening that the roof collapse hadn’t completely cut off access to the upper floors. The fact that they could even still call this place a building was the kind of miracle that Eddie desperately needed right now, because every second that he had to spend wondering if Buck was still breathing was a crueler torture than any pain he could ever inflict on his body.
Maybe the priests were right—Hell was real, and it was the agony of losing Evan Buckley.
An 8x18 fix-it fic featuring a near death experience, a feelings realization over the 118’s radios, and Buck and Eddie finding joy in the impossible things.

Summary
That’s when Luke sees it. The tattoo. It’s on the man’s bicep, small and almost unnoticeable, if not for the color. Inadvertently Luke finds himself leaning forward, trying to discern what the blob of green could be. There seems to be a circle around it, with two large ears sticking out, and a red line in the middle that looks sort of like a tongue. The legs—at least, Luke assumes the thin lines with large circles at the ends are legs—all stick out in different directions, their color a bit lighter than the green blob at the center. In the middle of all of that there are blue eyes, and Luke can almost feel them stare at him even though the tattoo isn’t even oriented towards him.
A chuckle escapes Luke’s lips without his intention. The tattoo is funny-looking, as if a child drew it, and Luke cannot imagine how upset the man must’ve been after the artist revealed that tattoo.
Or, 5 times Din visits Luke's bakery with a new, badly drawn tattoo and 1 time Luke figures out why.
