“Ahem,” Phoenix cleared his throat, apparently having recovered quicker than Trucy. Phoenix had no particular love for gossip, but even he could recognize Apollo’s bad mood, and relented. “No we don’t, tell us?”

Summary
There are few things in the world that Apollo would give the label of hate.
Loud cars, he dislikes. Cleaning the toilet at work is annoying, but probably not enough for even the dislike label. People who get on his witness stand for the sole purpose of lying, strongly dislike, but not hate. Even most criminals, he would say, don’t earn themselves the title of “hated by Apollo”.
February 14th is absolutely an exception to that rule.

K’lyrik shakes their head. “Nein! I am seducing Fräulein Spider!” They shake their hips and waggle their eyebrows at the Spider Mother, who definitely does not blush at the unexpected attention. As they reach the end of their song, they bend down on one knee and pull a rose out of their garishly purple jacket. “Your many, many eyes strike fear and joy into my heart, Fräulein. And my eyes are only for you.”
When the Spider doesn’t immediately respond, and the others are too, uh, shocked to interject, K’lyrik presses, “Well? Are you seduced? Nein, I am not rolling Performance; you said I had to seduce you! I’ll ask again, Herr Dungeon Master: are you seduced?”
Or: Apollo DMs a game of Dungeons and Dragons. Klavier joins the campaign as a horny bard. Everyone else is stuck along for the ride, and it goes exactly how you'd expect.

Confused and a little more that nervous, Klavier rose to his feet. Just as he did so, Apollo rounded the side of his home.

Klavier let out a very embarrassing sound as Apollo Justice, five foot nothing Apollo Justice, scooped him up and hauled him into the air like it was no big deal. He fumbled to hold on, head reeling for many a reason. “Oh, sorry! You’re lightheaded right? I should’ve warned you,” Apollo apologized, frowning down at him with such genuine concern while quite literally cradling him in his arms. Maybe he really did have a fever because there’s no fucking way this wasn’t just some lunacy conjured up by his ailing mind. “N-Nein,” he heard his own voice saying, “I’m alright. But- the trial?? It’s not over, we should-“ “Fuck the trial,” Apollo scoffed and kicked open the courthouse bathroom door, marching right out into the lobby as if they weren’t the spectacle of the century."

Summary
Klavier is gone when Apollo gets back to their room, presumably getting ready for bed himself. Apollo leaves the light on for him and climbs into the lower bunk, facing the wall, tucking himself in with one of the threadbare, train-issued blankets. Except it’s not a threadbare, train-issued blanket.
Because it’s Klavier’s, and it smells like him, and it’s all warm and cozy, and Apollo is absolutely doing this to himself. But, well. Klavier had to put down this blanket for a reason. Knowing what they were going to do. So it’s fine. Really. It is.
Klavier shuts the door softly when he gets back into the room. A second later, he’s flicked off the lights. He bumps into maybe everything on his way to the bed. Apollo would laugh if his heart wasn’t pounding so furiously.
Klavier’s weight settles on the side of the bed. “Is this still okay?”
Apollo shifts himself closer to the cabin wall. Klavier climbs into bed beside him, back settling up against Apollo’s.
He’s warm. Apollo knew he would be.
Or: a 52-hour journey on a sleeper train, a small, shared room, and the ever-closing distance between them.

And the laugh this provides Phoenix carries him all the way into the royal blue sky that stretches across the afternoon, where Truce calls him up and he can finally give her the news. Calm, clinical:
“I’m stuck in the land of shit and honey with Miles Edgeworth. Hold down the fort for me.”

Apollo Justice isn't a big fan of Valentine's Day. Too much cheesy romance, too many sappy couples everywhere he goes. He plans on spending the evening at the office instead, catching up on work to avoid being bombarded by everything the most romantic day of the year has to offer. He'll pass on all of that.
But when Trucy invites none other than Klavier Gavin to the office under the pretense of him joining their Valentine's Day party, she works her typical Trucy magic and convinces Apollo's rival prosecutor to take him to a carnival being held out on the pier. An idyllic carnival, right by the ocean, on the day of love. Apollo shouldn't have expected anything less from her.
He just has to get through this totally not romantic evening with Klavier unscathed, and then he can go back to work like nothing ever happened. Easy, right?
