Akito isn't in a hurry to name what he feels for Tsukasa. He's never needed to rush anything—not sparring, not strategy, not the particular ache of watching someone for three years and deciding, quietly, that "colleague" stopped being an adequate word for him a long time ago.
Tsukasa isn't nearly as patient about it, though he's better at hiding that than people give him credit for. He asks permission before he asks anything serious. He laughs too easily and means it every time. And somewhere between one ordinary morning and the next, neither of them can quite remember not choosing each other. Neither of them knows yet how much that choice is about to cost.

Akito doesn't mean to fall for Tsukasa Tenma. It happens anyway, the way most inconvenient things do — gradually, then all at once, and at the absolute worst possible moment.
The worst possible moment, specifically, being the exact second he realizes he might not be the only one. A love triangle in which nobody is wrong, nobody is the villain, and everybody is going to need a while to figure out where they actually stand.
