Even with a few genuinely nice moments in their strained relationship, he knows the rivalry with Roger was not meant to be warm and cordial. The way Novak sees it, the tension in real life is part of what makes them great rivals.
That being said, he really doesn't feel like dealing with Federer being after his blood every time they play. Sometimes tension needs to be released, or it can blow up in your face.
