It was no brainer Agent likes Victim, everyone knew that. Agent knew that, the workers of rocket corp knew that, Ballista knew that, Primal as well and even Hazard who was always clueless on what’s happening. It seems that Victim is the only stick in the damn facility who is clueless (is he really?), and Agent is fine with that. He wasn’t really interested in starting any relationship with his boss (yeah he’s lying).
After all anyone can see Victim favor Agent more than the other mercs. If only Agent could see that as well…

"I’m not AI, I'm a sentient being. I have feelings and I can feel pain." He gritted his teeth as he said those words, memories of endless torture flooded through his brain, all being added with the context that the cursor didn't know he was sentient.
It was like an easy excuse for the cursor, having a legitimate reason for torturing him so much. But it doesn't exactly remove the pain and suffering he endured under the cursor.1461 deaths. That's how many times he died to the cursor.
He's expecting a reply, any reply. Maybe a shocked expression that will soon turn to guilt as it also recalls the torture it made him go through, maybe a confused expression and it asks Victim to clarify further, anything. Something that will end this tormentor and tormented dynamic between them.Then the cursor smiles, "Sure you are."
Spoken in a disbelieving tone.

In which Alan uses VR to torture Victim as it’s more immersive and fun that way. Because of this he can communicate with Victim and personally gets told that the stick figure he’s been torturing is alive.
