Knee-deep in the glittering push-and-pull of the water, Han bends over occasionally, to scoop up a piece of sea glass or a small shell. His round, rose-tinted sunglasses slip down the slope of his crooked nose. He pushes them back up. He has a small plastic bag in his hand filled with various shades of smooth green glass and gritty sand, littered with partially cracked porcelain shells. He straightens up, and holds a larger piece of sea glass up to the setting sun, examines it, and slips it into his bag.

Summary
Hancock takes a leave of absence. Nora never wakes up.
After more than 200 years on ice, the sole survivor of Vault 111 is freed by the Commonwealth’s best behaved trio of ne’er-do-wells and finds herself stranded in this dead, alien world. Nothing is as it once was. Nobody is who they should be. Her life, her home, and her future were destroyed when the bombs fell, and now she’s faced with uncomfortable questions about her new reality. Being the mayor has jaded Hancock to the realities of his world. On an extended treasure hunt with Bobbi No-Nose and Mel, they dive into the mysterious Vault 111 and find a different sort of pre-war relic than they were anticipating. It seems as though Nora’s fate is tangled with that of Hancock’s newfound enemies. Now he has to ask himself if this is a fight he can afford to involve himself in - and exactly how far he is willing to go.

Deacon uses lies to keep everyone at a distance, but Nora doesn't seem to mind. She just accepts him. The only problem is that she wants more from him than he can give her and it's breaking his heart. Can Nora find a way to help him let go of his past so that he can enjoy his future... with her?
This is just a short (well, short for me...) little story that I had to get out of my head! After writing about Deacon in my other story and reading a few fics about him I had to write something with my spin on how a relationship between he and Nora would develop. I'm not totally sure where this is going, but I know that Hancock will be involved at some point (because I'm obsessed) and that things are going to get Smutty. Yes, with a capital S. I wrote this as if we are catching snapshots of the big changes in their relationship and I don't include a lot of story-line details. There are some end of game spoilers though!!

"The thing you eat with. Like a fork or a knife but for soup," Clara says, and she's making the motion as if she's eating cereal while she's speaking, as if using the muscles will help her remember if she ever knew it.
"A spoon?" Deacon says it almost as more of a question, like he's unsure if that's the answer or not.
Clara snaps her fingers and grins widely. "Yes! Spoon!"

the sole survivor's first language isn't english, and deacon's first language is bullshit, so together, they make a pretty terrible team.
