The good thing about working in such a chaotic environment is that no one notices when you’ve skipped meals. Langdon’s always eaten like a bird, was always teased for it by family and friends. He prefers quick snacks to big meals, and that’s how it’s always been. That’s why he works so well in the Pitt. He shoves a protein bar in his scrub pocket, knowing full well he won’t eat it later. But it makes him feel like his old self, the one before the benzos, when he pretends he still has an appetite.
Langdon has a problem with food.

Summary
He doesn’t eat, not when the food is in front of him and begging to be eaten. Santos says that he can have whatever he wants from her apartment but he doesn’t take her up on the offer. It’s not that he doesn’t want to eat and doesn’t like food. It’s more that he likes the feeling of being empty and weightless and doesn’t like the feeling of heaviness.
Dennis will swear to anyone who asks that it doesn’t have anything to do with his childhood. Meals being taken away in the name of God due to a little misbehaviour. Or how his body has gotten used to surviving on the minimal amount of food due to being unhoused. Hospital sandwiches are all that his diet is being made up of and he doesn’t even like them very much.

And like all diseases, some people live to tell their stories, and others, well, others die. Niall knows this, of course he does, but sometimes his life is so busy and chaotic he feels like he might die either way, so what's the point in fighting it?

“Then why are you here?”
“Because my rugby coach said it might be good for me?”
Dr. Walker hums, “But you don’t think you have an eating disorder?”
“Not… really, no. My boyfriend has anorexia or– had it? He’s in recovery now but…”
“That must have been difficult for you,” she says, breezing over the fact that Nick said boyfriend.
“It was,” he admits, “But we made it out the other side in one piece and he’s doing a lot better now. I’ve seen up close what disordered eating behaviors look like and how the thought patterns manifest, I guess.”
Her expression softens, “Anorexia can look different from person to person.”
Nick doesn’t know what to say to that. He just knows his body weight is too high to get diagnosed with it.

He was fucking hungry, but you couldn’t pay him a billion dollars to eat that stupid cookie. Well, actually, you could; a billion dollars was a lot of money. But you wouldn’t catch him eating it for free.
“C’mon, you know you want it,” said David. “For a job well done.”
“I’m not eating that.”
“You want a granola bar then?” David pulled one out of his own desk. Funny how Brad had bandages and an x-acto in his desk and David had granola bars.

Hunger is holy. At least, that's what Evan grew up knowing. The ache in your stomach means you're pure, clean. The deep sense of rot means it's working. Passing out in the shower means you're doing something right for once. Evan knows this, and he knows it well. He knows it like he knows the gnawing pain in his abdomen when he's on day 3 of a fast, it's familiar. It feels like home. It feels like control.
Or, Buck has struggled with an eating disorder for years. Eddie is there to do what he can. I basically took that one line about Buck not eating until he wasn't hungry anymore and ran with it very far.
