Summary
Every twenty five years, in the city of Baram, a nineteen year old boy is chosen to be sacrificed to the cruel witch living in the nearby forest. It's the only way to ensure he continues protecting the city.
Yang Jeongin has been chosen to play this role. He's accepted that this is his fate, his contribution to his family and society. All he can hope for his a merciful death, if the witch would be kind enough to grant him that.
But the witch, Bang Chan, doesn't want to kill him. He hasn't killed any of the past sacrifices either, keeping them alive and young, tucked safely away in a community deep in the forest, where magic seeps into everything and everyone.
Chan is kind, gentle, and loving. The others seem to adore him... so where did all the stories of an evil witch come from?

Lee Minho would die for his members.
It’s something he always said. He didn’t often say it to their faces, but he’d think it to himself as he danced alongside them, when he heard one of them sing or rap, when one of them told a stupid joke and Minho laughed so much his chest hurt from trying to catch his breath. He’d whisper it under his breath on those nights when he was the last one awake before a break day, pleasantly exhausted and squished into a corner of the sofa by the sleeping members, the movie they’d been watching still playing.
He'd never had to prove it. He'd never been put in a position where he had to pick between his life or one of theirs.

Minho has to pick between saving his own life or saving Felix's. The others struggle through the aftermath of that choice.

Minho doesn't like Christmas for a multitude of reasons. He normally spends the holiday alone, but this year, the members are all staying home, so they decide to have the Stray Kids Christmas celebration of their dreams, and for Minho, it doesn't go well.

Jisung blinks, slowly taking in his surroundings. This isn't right, he thinks, rubbing his eyes open, forcing his vision into clearer focus. The ceiling is missing the collection of glow-in-the-dark stars he had stuck on there when he first moved in, not to mention the wallpaper color is all wrong. This isn't his room—heck, he realises as he rolls around the mattress, it doesn't even feel like his bed.
The realisation sinks in and he shoots up to a sitting position.
“What the fuck?” he mumbles, rubbing his eyes more furiously and looking around, almost expecting his surroundings to morph into something more familiar.
They don't.
In which: Jisung and Minho find themselves randomly switching lives, one day at a time, with no logical rhyme or reason that explains why.

Jisung even explicitly stated they should only tell the truth for the experiment to actually work. The only exception was one tiny, itsy-bitsy little lie- they weren’t even a real couple to begin with.
