“You’re drinking all that by yourself?” a deep voice muses from above Keith as a shadow falls across him.
Ready to reply with what feels like his thousandth sarcastic reply to a stranger in 24 hours, Keith looks up at the figure blocking the sun and critiquing his alcohol intake, then sucks in a breath of surprise. Frat boys at music festivals are a dime a dozen, but the frat boy in front of Keith—and he is definitely a frat boy—is somehow completely different.

When Shiro learns, to his horror, that Keith has been spending his Christmases alone at the Garrison, he sets out to give him the perfect one in the form of 12 days of Christmas, each with a different holiday activity. Because Keith’s his friend, and he cares about him, and definitely not because he’s hopelessly in love with him, no matter what Matt says.
In other words, Shiro will do anything to make Keith happy, Keith thinks Shiro hung the moon, and it takes the most wonderful season of all to show them that they’re big dumb fools.

Summary
He had prepared himself for a long weekend with his best friend. His best friend he has secretly been crushing on for as long as he could remember.
He had prepared himself for three days of sharing a tent and sharing stories about ghosts and lost lovers over campfires. He had mentally braced himself for seeing each other in bathing trunks and boxer shorts.
He had braced himself not to get his hopes up, though, not to read too much into it. He had prepared himself not to wish for them sharing chaste kisses over bonfires. Not to hope for the possibility of shared body heat in the intimacy of their small camping tent.
But no logic or reasoning could have prepared him for the small drops of water making their way down Shiro’s abs. Nothing could have prevented his face turning a deep shade of red in response.
Keith curses himself. Yes, it’s definitely going to be a long weekend.

You know the story: a guy moves to a new city to start a new job. A guy meets a guy. A guy falls in love with a guy.
In this case, the guy is one Takashi Shirogane, scarred inside and out but with a bigger heart than most and the other guy is Keith Kogane, a little scarred on the inside and more friendless than he would like. Neither was looking for love: Shiro mostly because he thought he didn't need it and Keith mostly because he thought he already had it.
But love can't be ordered around. It comes when it wants to come.

Keith has always dealt with his problems alone. He was fine that way, but even in shutting everyone out, he always had Shiro. Shiro had put up with a lot over the years, but Keith thinks this burden would just be too much. He planned on keeping it inside, but sometimes feelings just crave to be heard.
