Summary
As Jason plots his revenge on Bruce, he puts together a detailed schedule of his day-to-day activities, which is always consistent, until one day he deviates. Following him, Jason discovers him standing in the cemetery, speaking to his grave.
---“I...haven't visited recently,” he remarked softly. “I’m sorry.” Jason’s eyes narrowed in confusion, hearing not only his apology, but the gentle tone of it. Bruce’s thumb swiped in circles around the leather cover of the book he held firmly in his hands. “I was going to, like usual,” he confessed. “But I- I called Tim by your name, again."
Again? Jason could feel his heart thudding a little harder as he leaned closer, trying to hear his father’s words, which were quiet, clearly meant and thought to be private between him and the dead.
“Alfred rebuked me for it and said I needed to try to move on,” he added, pausing to swallow the lump in his throat. “I don’t think Alfred’s ever lost his son, though, because if he had, he would know I can’t.”

Jason is so tired. His second chance has been nothing but more pain and suffering, maybe even more than his first go at life. He’s a pit-fueled zombie, a crime lord, isolated from his family. He thought that when Bruce took him in, he’d be able to leave all that pain behind. That he’d be able to live a new life, a better life.
Then, he was dead.
And then, he wasn’t.
He never asked to be brought back to life. Ever since he ripped himself from his coffin, it’s been one disappointment after another. More pain. More trauma. Even his death couldn’t bring him peace. What if he could finally rest? Finally fix the mistake of his revival once and for all?
It’s not like anyone would miss him if he were gone.
Would anyone even cry for him?
OR
Jason spirals after a series of bad nights on the job, including arguments with his family. Amid a depressive episode, Jason considers his life a mistake. He goes out as Red Hood, catches himself in a tricky situation (that might or might not have been intentional), and doesn’t fight it when he’s thrown into the harbor.

His dad did it, yelling and yelling at his mother whenever he drank, and his mom would take it, sometimes even yelling her defenses back at him when he got violent and thought Jason might be a better target. His dad yelled at his mom because he was scared for them all. His mom yelled at his dad because she was scared for Jason.
Even when he joined the Wayne household, there was still screaming.

But, somehow, after I wrote the skeleton for this series, my playlist hit me with the perfect songs for each part consecutively. I just loved how the songs fit perfectly with the theme of each story and how they all share the Carry On motif. It was fate!
