Summary
In her mind, a mantra sounds on repeat— I made it, we made it, I made it, we made it.
The blanket wrapped around her shoulders does little to quell the feverish fight-or-flight feeling building up in her gut, tense muscles ready to pounce, and yet she’s just so tired.
She’s just so tired.

Summary
The first time Stan Marsh lays his eyes upon Wendy Testaburger, he is in Kindergarten. She steals his gaze immediately. Everything about her drags him in, forces her to stare at her.
She is pretty, and sweet, and she offers him a piece of her cookie at lunch. She makes butterflies flutter in his stomach, nearly to the point of vomiting.
He runs home that day and tells his mama all about the girl from school with the black hair and the shining eyes. He tells her about her purple jacket, and how purple is what red and blue make, and red and blue are the colors of his hat, so she was sent for him.
His mama smiles and ruffles his hair, and listens as he regales her. His mama is the most important person in his world. She is his sun, his moon, his stars, but today, today he thinks maybe someone else can join his solar system.

Summary
She wants to insulate him against the rest of the world forever. He hurts too much, and he never did anything to deserve it. He drives his friends’ little siblings around when their parents are busy and feeds the fish in Stark’s Pond and nurses stray kittens back to health on his back porch, and his reward is to hurt and hurt and hurt. One dark night in the middle of last summer, he’d confessed, barely awake, “Sometimes I feel like God’s punching bag.”
She hadn’t known what to say, so she’d just stroked his hair and mumbled about anything until he fell asleep.
But she knows what she’d say now: It’s not fair. It’s not right.
She marches right up to his house after school to do something about it.

Summary
Wendy couldn’t move.
It was strange. She’d stood on countless stages and played for thousands, but standing here, watching him, she felt like just another kid in the audience again. That same dizzy little awe she’d had back when she was playing open mic nights for fifteen people.
Stan, she thinks his name is, wasn’t trying to control the crowd—but he was controlling them, whether he liked it or not. Like clockwork, they swayed, surged, then collided into each other as the breakdown hit, his head thrashing back and forth to the beat. The pit exploded in front of him as if on cue.
It's 2017. Wendy's been in the mainstream music business since she was fourteen, while Stan is the lead singer for the hot, up-and-coming band Crimson Dawn. He's a dreamer, a romantic, and she's not. In spite of this, they unexpectedly seem to be in each other's orbit. This will either be the best or worst thing for them and their careers.
A South Park band AU primarily written from Wendy's perspective.
