Originally tagged "god this was so soft and beautiful", "read it on my worst day and it both soothed me and made things exponentially worse" and "to be loved is to be seen is to love yourself". Anyway... I can't say much about this because it made me feel too much to still use words properly. I can say that I loved it, though, and that this is perhaps the first time a fic in this format made me feel this much. Writer has a way with words that is so gentle and soft and made me able to imagine everything so very clearly it was almost like I was there with the characters. Highly recommend.

Jeongin was completely comfortable with the fact that his dad’s love came in the form of cheese buldak and mint chocolate chip ice cream and silly little gifts and bags upon bags of home cooked food and cups of coffee and lighthearted scolding, he always has been. But apparently, he actually does express his love in other ways. A lot of other ways. Through pet names and hand holding and hugs and arms slung around shoulders and kisses on foreheads and by saying it. He says it all the time.
Just not to Jeongin.
Jeongin's dad's new boyfriend invites him on their couples trip to Mexico. He sees a side of his father that he has never seen before.

What can I say. This was definitely the fic that sparked the need in my to write bound for something. I needed to soothe my inner child and also give Jeongin all the love at the same time. Because this one was just... So good. So real. So... everything. Jisung is an innocent party in this but I'm yet to make my peace with Minho. He definitely made me want to yell at him and maybe slap him around a little. Anyway. My baby forgave him so eventually I might find it in myself to do the same........ Probably not.
Read this if you want to love Jeongin so much you're ready to fight Minho I guess? lmao -

Nothing in Minho's life is ever complete until he's shared it with Jisung; such has been the case for the last twenty years. It gets to a point.
He's seen Jisung interact with countless patients and families. He’s seen how his charm and confidence make even the parents who side eye him for his youthful face and the tattoos on his arms come to trust him with their entire worlds. The children themselves are even quicker to warm up to him, and Jisung is always able to examine them without any major fuss.
Sometimes Minho wishes he could send him off to do his rounds for him.

I loved reading this little Hometown Cha Cha Cha rewrite, and considering I didn't even finish the drama that says a lot. This writer is always good, though, so it didn't surprise me that I loved this one as well. Either way, check it out!

Summary
The conclusion Minho has come to after nights spent thinking of wavy brown hair when he spaces out during Jeongin’s kids shows, days spent with his eyes skimming the beach for a glimpse of honey skin, is that humans have an interest in the unknown.
Jisung is a new character in his day to day, the first in ages, ever since Hyeju got hired as a lifeguard. Jisung is pretty and he’s from the mainland but he seems to be setting up a life here, and Minho knows nothing about him besides his name. His brain has inexplicably latched onto a weaved story, a routine thing he and Hyunjin do, because humanity craves to learn more about the unknown.
The Jisung in his head is separate from the Jisung on the beach, though they look the same. A temporary annoyance, a psychological torment.
(OR: Minho, left to care for his younger brother after his parents death, works to make ends meet and doesn't have time for distractions. Jisung, a free-spirited and very distracting surfer, moves to town and turns Minho's world on it's head.)

Just in case it wasn't obvious yet: this was a really amazing read and I enjoyed it from start to finish. Minho's troubles were very relatable, as was his love for his brother and his struggles in trying to find a way through to the other side while also feeling like there simply is no other side. I love realistically written things and this one once again hit hard. I fully encourage you to check out the writer's other stories too, they're all great.

The tags are a bit all over the place because I was a bit all over the place after reading this. The take on getting what you wish for and finding out it's not what you expected it would be is delicious. The Jisung in this is one of the best Jisungs I've ever read about, I think partly because he's portrayed as this perfect entity by Felix but then he's just so Real and that is just so heartwarming. As always bk's writing is great, but I feel like it's even better than usual in this one - or maybe I'm just biased. Do yourself a favour and read this please!

— Hyunjin wraps himself in everything that is Jisung and it's seamless. So much like the vine that snakes around Hyunjin's wrist that Jisung avoids covering, the faded maple tree that crawls over the firm skin of his bicep, the setting sun in the dip of his thumb, so similar is the way they fit together: as if one was never without the other. Not perfect; always a little torn at the stitches because that's the way humans are: imperfect, malleable. Breakable. Still, Hyunjin can't imagine his skin without the ink pressed deep into it, and he can't imagine his heart without a home for Jisung carved out into its corners. No amount of brightening concealer or long-wear foundation can cover that kind of endlessness. Jisung would never try to cover it. Hyunjin would never let it be covered.
(Or: Hyunjin is a model who intends to make a habit out of showing up to shoots with new tattoos so his makeup artist, Jisung, has to spend more time covering them up.)

It was soft, it was sweet, I read this on a platform waiting for my friend to arrive by train and it was a perfect story for being in motion but wanting to slow down. It's such an organically growing relationship, I liked it a lot.

With just the two of them, Minho’s skin skittered warmly. He didn’t have to shy away so harshly. He didn’t have to pretend to be looking at other people.
Did Seungmin like it with just the two of them? He was so much calmer this way. When he wasn’t trying to aggravate Chan or make Hyunjin laugh, he was so much softer. He must like it okay, Minho decided, because he didn’t leave, and he didn’t tease. He let himself brush against Minho as they moved around each other.
But even that was strange today. He must have figured something out."That would be bad. Minho couldn't have Seungmin figuring things out.

I am and will always be wolf's number one Cub, their biggest fan, on the edge of my seat waiting for a new work of theirs to drop so I can feel totally normal and not at all feral about it as I try not to yell at them in DMs. Honestly they are one of my favourite writers out there and I have yet to come across a single piece of their writing that I did not love from start to finish. Their characterisations are always extremely on point, especially in canon-compliant fics but also others, they pinpoint the little details of people's personality so well and they put so much time and effort and love into each work that it really shows. This one was once again the best 2min I've ever read, but so are all of their other 2mins and pairings so, you know, maybe I'm biased. Read this anyway. Thanks.

This one is much of the same. I really loved the world building as well as the personal struggles and the way the revelation of truths came so naturally and realistically. There was a flower shop on my way here, so I just….” Jisung starts, trailing off and pressing the flowers nervously into Hyunjin’s hands. "You smell like flowers. And you have them all over your apartment. I don’t know, now every time I see flowers I think of you.”
Hyunjin pulls away from the bouquet and stares at Jisung, baffled, “It’s the middle of spring, Jisung. There are flowers everywhere.”
“I must be thinking about you all the time then.”
He promptly hears Minho choke from his seat in the living room.
Hyunjin has loved and been dumped more times than he can count. Just when he thinks to give up on love, there comes Jisung, stumbling into his life.
