George loves it, and he loves it more than he thought he would that the entire world gets to experience this with him — their entire world...
They don’t get everything though, and George loves that more. Dream opens his mouth, then closes it, and George feels assured that nobody else will ever get a moment like this with him.

Summary
“Is this okay?” He asks.
George wants to say no. It’s not okay for Dream to hold him in his bed and to breathe down his neck, heart beating against his back. It makes his head hurt even more and his stomach clenches in preparation to expel his insides. It’s unfair, is what it is. He feels cheated out of a chance for this to be real. Like a fever and a stomach bug is what brought him here, not because Dream wants this. It’s not okay. But George is a weak man, and so he closes his eyes and says “Yes. This is fine.”
Sleep comes easy to his fever-addled brain.

"That's crazy," George continued, in the same sarcastic teasing tone almost as if he didn't believe it or simply found it the funniest dumb thing on the planet.

A brief pause. Then George said, "That's kinda cringe."
Dream takes two Are You In Love With Your Best Friend quizzes. All the while he can't stop thinking about George. It scares him just as much as it draws him closer... Especially when George moves to Florida.

He lifted his eyes to the rearview mirror and glanced around the back seats of the car, watching Karl and Sapnap press themselves together as they muttered under their breaths and grinning as he noticed George fast asleep next to them. The brunet’s mouth hung slightly open and his cheek was squished against the car window, eyelids fluttering every time they hit a bump in the road.
Idiot, Dream thought, hesitating before his brain continued with Cute idiot though.

Without opening his eyes, Dream smiles under George’s soft hands. “Well, I haven’t shaved since this morning. Why were you imagining touching my face, anyway?”
George doesn’t reply, and maybe that’s what gives Dream the confidence to say what he says next.
“Maybe you should kiss me, too. Just to see if that lives up to your imagination.”
George arrives in Florida. It takes four days to film the meetup vlog, and only three for Dream to completely lose his mind.

Summary
In this brief moment of clarity, George feels a surge of courage rush through him. Before he knows it, the sheets are flung away from his body and he’s out of the room that’s trapped his mind for the past two hours. His feet carry him to his door without a second thought, and the next thing he knows he’s slamming the door behind him, leaning against it, and finally letting out a breath of relief.
Maybe if he guards it, the bad thoughts won’t be able to reach him here. Maybe he can stay awake all night anyway, but by his own merit, so that he can still have his picture-perfect morning of passing out at the breakfast counter.
“G’rge?”

It wasn’t long before they were pulling up to their home, Dream rolling the window down a crack to nod at the guards at the gate, before driving through. He pulls the car up in front of the house, turning the engine off and looking over at George.
“Before we go in, I want to give you two options for how tonight could go. Either you continue this whiny princess act and go to sleep, or you can cut the shit and I can fuck you into the mattress tonight. Your choice.” Dream doesn’t give George time to react as he exits the car, walking into the house.

Summary
“You missed me,” George cuts him off and wraps his arms around his neck, pulling Dream into a second hug that’s somehow warmer than the first, even if less forceful.
“I missed you,” Dream affirms, the top of George’s head so close to his lips that he can feel his breathing shifting his hair. “So much, George.”
“I know,” George whispers, and Dream can hear the smile in his voice. And Dream knows that even if he doesn’t say it, the way George’s thumb brushes against his hair at the nape of his neck means I missed you too.
or; George comes home for the summer after his first year away at college, and Dream decides 800 miles of driving are his last chance to convince him to stay.

He had no real end goal in mind, knowing he’d never release a song so transparently about his questionably unrequited love for his best friend, but words were comforting. Words had a beginning and an ending, could exist somewhere other than as formless expanses of desire and sadness inside his own mind.
