Summary
War unexpectedly strikes Tjemehu—Yugi’s home. It lasts only two days, but the damage is severe. Yugi is one of only six survivors, all of which become prisoners of war.
Now an enslaved launderer at the Pharaoh’s palace, Yugi manages to keep going. He learns the language of those that have taken everything from him and he integrates well enough into his new life. But below the surface, his resentment only festers with time, and he grows bitter.
Two years pass without incident but Yugi’s life is once again thrown in disarray when the Pharaoh apparently kills his personal slave, only for Yugi to be ordered to take up the position next.

Summary
“You shall be my king tonight, hm? My god. My Pharaoh.”
In which Atem, the Crown Prince of Egypt, sick of being controlled by his father, sneaks out of the palace at night and ends up in a brothel, where he meets Yugi.
Yugi doesn’t recognize the prince, but he is very intrigued by him when Atem offers a gem the color of his eyes as payment for his services.
Atem is likewise interested in Yugi, but he doesn’t realize Yugi cannot be bought.

Summary
Yugi has a discussion with Jounouchi. It’s silly, really, but he’s upset and ends up on Domino's pier, crying miserably.
There, he meets Atem, who suggests they run away together. He laughs it off at first, but after a second he does consider it. Things aren’t going so well at home, what did he have to lose if he ran away? He ends up agreeing with the stranger.

Summary
A young man is brought before the Pharaoh, which isn’t weird, because he sees plenty of people on the daily. Only, the young man is wearing strange clothes and looks exactly like him.
The High Priests insist the Pharaoh’s double should be killed, but the Pharaoh ought to maintain order and justice in his country.
He also feels inexplicably drawn to him, as if they’d met before. -

Summary
Mafuyu tries to move on but can’t forget the words he harshly said that day. He thinks about what he should have said instead but couldn’t. He can’t put this into words, but he’s angry and sad - he feels hopeless. He keeps on thinking about those words - even after meeting Ritsuka.
Is it okay for him to fall in love again? Will he ever open up to Ritsuka? He just wishes he could talk to Yuki one last time. He wants to find the right words and wants to tell them to Yuki. Wants him to know. Wants Yuki to forgive him.
While Mafuyu is going through all of this alone, Ritsuka wonders how to take the next step in their relationship.
