Intern's POV (Current Day in the Animal Hospital Universe)

The intern blinked and found themselves in the front office of the Animal Hospital, their new job. Shift one was beginning, and it was time to put themselves to the test. They didn't know a lot about medicine and anything in relation to medicinal supplies, so this would be interesting. It was the only job that paid enough to sustain them for the time being, so if that was what they needed to do, then they would do it. Quillian sighed heavily, the sound happening to sound strangely exhausted for someone who hadn't even started their earliest shift. It was hard to believe that they had a job now...
The first patient maneuvered to the front office check-in, offering a polite greetings, "Hi, I'm Yuki Yamamoto. I'm here for my appointment."
Quillian nodded in acknowledgment, "Good to hear," They chimed in return.
Yuki appeared as a purplish pink fox with short, outward-pointing ears, almond-shaped eyes with black pupils and white scleras, a long, curled tail, and no visible patterns. A note by the check-in desk listed everything they needed to do to get a patient appropriately signed in. The action listed at the top wrote, 'Step One: Wait for visitors', and the following one read, 'Step Two: Stamp the form'. Yuki placed a clipboard with a completed document on the desk, smiling gently as she awaited the intern to stamp her form. Quillian scanned over the entry form with efficient eyes before plucking the stamp from its normal position and pressing it down on the paper.
The stamp was a light blue circle with minus-looking symbol in the middle. They crossed their arms, proud they were slowly, but steadily getting the hang of this. It seemed simple, after all! Little did they know that was just the easy portion. Next was the third move, 'Step Three: Take a photo', seemed fairly straightforward. Quillian peered over the older camera on the miniature tripod.
They clicked the shutter, yanked the developing photo out, and set it on the desk. The photo finished developing after a moment, showing a perfectly identical patient. Perfect-o! Next in the order, 'Step Four: Register in PC', then after that, 'Step Five: Print badge'. Quillian's bunny paws darted over the keys of the senior computer as they typed in the patient's name and successfully registered them into the system hospital's system. Off to the step five now!
They inputted Yuki's information into a separate file on the computer before clicking the mouse to print the fox's name tag. The printer beside them gave a stuttered da doon before emanating a zzzt, zzzt, zzzt as it began to print the badge. This kinda stuff was so foreign to Quillian. This was their first full-time job, after all! They were getting distracted, anyway...!
