Summary
When Rocky and Adrian came over today, Grace wasn't expecting them. Happy to see them, of course! He's always happy to see his best friend and their mate. But the two rocks are up to something, and Grace has a sneaking suspicion that it involves himself and Simon.
Or where Rocky and Adrian play wingman, and rather dubiously.
Or or where the author throws caution to the wind and writes something entirely self-indulgent.

Summary
Ryland Grace— savior of two planets— uses that title to get whatever he wants from the rock aliens that serve him. That familiar, human, tendency to abuse status and power is the only reason Simon knows that this is real— that Erid and Ryland aren't another trick, and Simon the Butcher gets to keep them.
Only, he's known Ryland for months now, and the short tempered, scarily intelligent, sad, *kind*, man he knows doesn't seem like the type to ask for anything at all
The rock that barely tolerates him has a surprise for both of them, and Simon still has more to learn about his housemate.
Or: Simon falls in love with Grace's flaws before his virtues

Summary
Grace never sees or hears his nightmares coming; he feels it in his body first. He finds himself unable to move freely, struggling and failing to move against the invisible, omnipresent pressure holding him down. His increasingly panicked mind fills in the details for him: the smell and feeling of wet grass and dirt against his face, the hands pinning his arms and legs down, the knee pressing against his back. A rainbow in the sky above a barbed wire fence. Adrenaline forcing his breathing to hasten and heart to pound in his ears.

Summary
There's 1 in 70,000 people on the planet who have the gene needed to survive the Hail Mary's expedition. In that limited pool, 1 in maybe 1000 had the necessary skills needed for the mission — more dire still, even less people were willing to volunteer for what is essentially a suicide mission.
When an explosion killed not only their science officers but also their engineers, Eva Stratt makes the tough decision to put 2 people on the spacecraft that no one was expecting to be even be candidates.
One is a middle-school science teacher.
One is a convicted eco terrorist.
