Over the past few months Frank has watched Peter look at him more, blush more, do things he almost certainly doesn’t know he’s doing. Drifting toward him. Tilting his head, offering his throat when Frank is too close, when the height difference is obvious.
He knows what Peter is doing, whether Peter does or not. Takes one to know one. Frank has gone a long time without touching another body, without being touched. More than a year, actually. More or less since Spider-Man walked into his life and took the routines apart, one by one. Go figure.

Then, at four in the morning, with rain against his bedroom window and an old sitcom playing softly in the dark, Peter sends Frank a name.
Skip Wescott.
He doesn't explain who the man is. He doesn't explain what happened when he was younger, or why affection has never felt quite as simple to him as it seems to everyone else. Frank doesn't ask. He only makes sure Peter understands what giving him that name means.
Peter does.
By morning, Skip Wescott is gone.
Peter expects relief. Instead, he discovers that revenge cannot return the child he used to be, erase the memories he carries, or make him feel safe inside his own life again. And as Spider-Man grows quieter, his friends begin to notice that something bright in Peter Parker has dimmed.
A character study about guilt, lost innocence, revenge, and the unbearable realization that sometimes getting what you wanted doesn't make anything hurt less.
