Summary
When Steve’s mother decides to go back to work, she turns to a visit to her childhood best friend, Charlotte Buckley, to try and talk out her decision - plagued with indecision. However, after seeing the immediate bond between their two young children, she convinces the Buckley’s to move onto the Harrington property so her family can look after him - assuaging her guilt while allowing herself a selfish moment of keeping her friend close.
A vignette of moments in Steve and Robin’s lives, from meeting and through their school years into adulthood; growing up and facing the world together.

Summary
Robin never meant for her charade to get beyond the Abbey walls - she was supposed to cycle out of Sword Sister training once she was confronted for inducement. Now a "divine dream" has her traveling away from the only home that matters toward a congregation of Sisters who are just as likely to see through her facade as excommunicate her, all with the world's most irritating paladin as her escort.
But repeated encounters on the road mirror many of Robin's nightmares, and Paladin Steve provides complications of his own. If secrets forced their paths to cross then their weight could doom the quest before it can start; unless they can find the strength to cut through the darkness, together.

Robin Buckley and Steve Harrington are polar opposites who believe their paths will never cross.
For most of their childhoods, they don't. Robin eats lunch in the band room, wears too much eyeliner, and is made to be other girls 'expirements', a secret kept and then discarded, over and over again. Steve is the captain of the swim team and kisses girls he doesn't love at parties in his barren house, praying quietly every time for whatever he feels for Tommy H to be taken from him.
Until they find themselves slinging ice cream in sailor costumes, and find the falsehoods in everything they had previously believed about each other.
Or... a braided character study comprised of parallels of Steve and Robin growing up and growing together, apart, and together again.

And then again- okay, she's becoming a frequent flyer. Neither one of them anticipates the blooming friendship, but Robin is delighted by the gossip she missed in their shared hometown. Steve enjoys the company of someone who isn't reminding him of his trauma, new or old.
