Summary
The concept of time, for someone most would consider immortal, was… odd. Forming attachments to mortals came at a high risk for their short lives passed in the blink of an eye. Even a witcher, whose life was extended through their mutations, would last a few centuries at most.
Or at the very least, that’s what Regis had expected upon meeting the oddly familiar witcher, Geralt of Rivia. He’d hoped for a few good centuries of friendship before death would claim the witcher, and he was only partially right.
Death did, indeed, claim the witcher one cold afternoon. So Regis decided to take on the mantle of being a witcher in his honour, in an attempt to atone for mistakes he made in his past that have seemingly tied his fate to that of Geralt: a man who he keeps meeting each time Geralt is reborn.

Life on the high seas suits Geralt just fine. As a pirate captain with his brothers behind him, there isn't much that gets under his skin. Jaskier is the exception.
Loud and flashy, Jaskier is the foil to Geralt's strong and silent persona. Jaskier isn't intimidated like the rest of the world. In fact, Jaskier seems almost drawn to Geralt like a moth to a flame- Geralt can't escape the young captain and his flirtations, denying that he feels the pull, too. In Lettenhove Vesemir accepts a contract about saving the kidnapped son of the Viscount. Even though he quickly comes to the conclusion that he doesn't like the man, he pays well, so he starts searching for clues.
When he finally rescues the kid, Julian, he is surprised at the child's wish to instead of going home, become a Witcher. That has never happened before. He can't deny that he quickly starts to like the kid but the path is dangerous and the Viscount would probably hunt him down. So he has to make a decision and live with the question of whether he made the right one.

When a monster hunt turns into a disaster, Geralt is convinced that this ist the contract that will cost him his life. But if he has to go down, he'll make sure to take the final monster with him - resorting to drastic measures that are more effective than he would have thought.
A day later, a strange boy with Witcher's eyes and sketchy memories appears before Jaskier and Lambert and asks them to rescue a not-quite-dead-yet Witcher with whom he shares a confusing connection.
Add Eskel, who had been seeking Geralt for reasons of his own, to the rescue party, and you have three-and-a-half people that set out to safe the Witcher, who’s a friend, annoying brother or beloved - depending on whom you'd ask.
Will they get there in time? And if they do - will they actually be able to save Geralt, or will there only be time for a final goodbye?

When Eskel takes a contract for what seems like a simple Griffin problem it all seems straightforward until the lord mentions that he has the most unique creature in his menagerie and that he could benefit from the professional opinion of a Witcher. Instead, Eskel finds so much more hidden in the lord's dungeon.

It was last winter that Jaskier had overheard Geralt while he was playing Gwent with his brothers and lost a bet that one of his biggest fantasies was seeing Jaskier in lingerie and being allowed to do anything he wanted to him then.
He couldn't stop thinking about it since, not really.
So when they returned to Redania in early spring, he knew exactly what he had to do. It would take some planning and some talking, of course, especially considering that he had to keep it all a secret from Geralt, but - and of this, he was more than sure - it would all be worth it in the end.
