He jumped, a squeal leaving his mouth.
He turned around, setting himself to go back.
A small sound took him out of his thoughts, it was followed by a screech and squawks.
Something fell over with an empty thud by his left, behind the bushes nearby. His ears flickered at the sound.
Slowly and carefully he approached the source of the sound.
There was a bird, trashing in the ground, fighting against a net while it had - an arrow. An arrow was piercing its wing.

‘The shortest day and the longest night of the year’.
Nobody knew why, or how, but magic seemed to grow stronger that day, so magical creatures decided to declare it a festive day. Lighting candles to symbolize the returning of the sun, the hope for a new beginning after the end of the year; decorating living trees outside their homes, with pretty hanging candles and ornaments meant to represent the sun, the moon and the stars. People also liked to make wreaths from winter evergreens like pine, juniper and cedar; they were meant to hang outside people’s doors, since they associated them with protection and prosperity.
Tommy was really excited about all of it.
After all, it was his first Winter Solstice.

His lungs feel like someone’s put all their weight on them, making it almost impossible for him to keep his breath, his throat stings with each gasp he gives. His chest feels like burning, and then the world becomes blurry. He rests his head on its side, staring at a door.
He heaves, trashing weakly on the ground, before his eyes close he hears a door opening, and a shadow figure stares back at him from the door, no specifical form other than its bright red and blue eyes.
He passes out after that.
He wakes up with a gasp, lifting himself from the ground. He can’t remember what happened that made him pass out.
But it doesn’t matter, he has bigger problems, like the fact that he didn’t wake up at the hotel hall.

“I’m afraid I can’t do that,” and then he reached a hand out to Tommy’s head, he tried to squirm out of his way, but the hero grabbed his hoodie. “It’s about time I bring you to justice”
He took his hoodie off, prying the mask from his face and he froze.
Tommy could see how the man’s eyes widened, something like panic in his expression.
But he didn’t care about that, he couldn’t breathe, the boss had told him to keep his piglin features hidden, that he was an advantage the heroes couldn’t know of, and now his pointy ears and the tusks that barely poked through his lips were now in the open for everyone to see.
For the heroes to know.
Even if he escaped now, the heroes would find out who he is, after all, there were only so many piglin hybrids in the records.
