Nobody knew why, or how, but magic seemed to grow stronger that day, so magical creatures decided to declare it a festive day. Lighting candles to symbolize the returning of the sun, the hope for a new beginning after the end of the year; decorating living trees outside their homes, with pretty hanging candles and ornaments meant to represent the sun, the moon and the stars. People also liked to make wreaths from winter evergreens like pine, juniper and cedar; they were meant to hang outside people’s doors, since they associated them with protection and prosperity.
Tommy was really excited about all of it.
After all, it was his first Winter Solstice.

“I’m afraid I can’t do that,” and then he reached a hand out to Tommy’s head, he tried to squirm out of his way, but the hero grabbed his hoodie. “It’s about time I bring you to justice”
He took his hoodie off, prying the mask from his face and he froze.
Tommy could see how the man’s eyes widened, something like panic in his expression.
But he didn’t care about that, he couldn’t breathe, the boss had told him to keep his piglin features hidden, that he was an advantage the heroes couldn’t know of, and now his pointy ears and the tusks that barely poked through his lips were now in the open for everyone to see.
For the heroes to know.
Even if he escaped now, the heroes would find out who he is, after all, there were only so many piglin hybrids in the records.

After making its way back it went directly to the place it had left its cub, shielding it from the elements, where it was sure its baby wouldn’t be buried under the snow, proudly holding its hunt in its nuzzle, eager to feed the small thing that yearned for its protection, only that-
Its cub was missing.
Soon the carcasses were discarded on the snow, as it looked around frantically, scarving the snow in case the cub had fallen from the hole in the tree trunk, finding no sign of its baby and sniffing the air, enraged at the smell of humans in the territory and the fading footsteps leading to some far place.
Not thinking twice it took off sprinting as fast as it could in their direction.
It followed.

Summary
Once he makes it close to one of the branches he lifts his arm up, trying to reach it. He almost slips up and falls, but he manages to grip it tight enough to hang for a few seconds, missing the way it creaks under his weight, he lets go of the trunk and reaches for the branch, holding it with both hands and pulling himself up with a huff.
He smiles once he’s up.
He did it!
He climbed the tree! All by himself!
Tommy turns down to call for his dad, to show him how cool and brave he is because he just climbed the tree on his own, no help needed, but as soon as his lungs take the air to shout out he looks down a frail sound escaping his lips as his stomach drops.

It was a death sentence.
There was no cure.
It would only go away once you felt yourself loved.
And Technoblade, was the most unlovable being in existence.
