Summary
Nick Nelson prided himself on not judging people before meeting them himself. But even he had to admit a bit of anxiety shot down his spine when he learned he’d be sitting next to Charlie Spring in his form group.
He’d first heard about the infamous Charlie Spring at the beginning of last year when he’d been the talk of the school for being gay. He hadn’t paid it much mind. He had no idea who the guy was, and him being gay didn’t exactly bother Nick.
That was, until a couple months later when friends and teammates alike would show up to school, games, practices, what have you looking worse for wear. Black eyes, broken or bloody noses, busted balls, so on and so forth. He was incredibly shocked when he found out Charlie Spring was the one behind all the injuries.
It was Sai who had told him, shocked he didn’t already know. Apparently Charlie wasn’t taking people’s shit anymore, and apparently a lot of the rugby lads had learned that the hard way.
And now this year, it looked like he’d be sitting with the now year ten boy.

Summary
Nick was gonna do it today. He wouldn’t say he was… comfortable in his sexuality. But he had accepted it. He knew he wasn’t straight, and he was okay with that. It was terrifying, but it was a fact he had finally come to terms with. And given Charlie was certainly the person who had awakened that part of him, he felt his best friend had a right to know the turmoil he was dealing with.
At first, he’d thought it was just Charlie, and it made no sense. He’d never looked at a boy and felt any special way, but he remembers looking at girls even from a young age and thinking they were pretty. But then there was Charlie. Charlie, who he thought was the prettiest person on planet Earth. Charlie, who routinely put his body on the line to protect himself and others. Charlie, who teased him relentlessly and set his face on fire. Charlie, who he’d helped patch up on more than one occasion over the course of their few months of friendship. Charlie, who looked hot as hell when he smirked after winning a fight.

Summary
Charlie had decided that feelings were the worst thing that could ever happen to a person. He and Nick had only been together for a week and everything was awful.
Okay. He was being dramatic. That wasn't true. Everything was amazing. Nick was amazing. The last week has been amazing. He already spent a lot of time with Nick, but now that they were officially together, they were at each other's houses every day.
No, what was awful were his recently discovered feelings. A week had gone by and he still didn't know how to handle them. It was too much all at once. He not only hadn't realized he liked Nick, he also hadn't realized just how much he liked Nick. And now that the floodgates were open, everything was spilling out of them.

Charlie threw the first punch. He had admitted to that. But he did not start that fight. After everything they’d all gone through, Charlie going to admin, Tao and Isaac going to admin, fuck, Jane and Julio Spring going to admin, this was what it came down to. Charlie being backed into a corner and having no choice but to push back. And he gets punished.
That day had not ended pretty. Tao remembers holding Charlie in his arms as he broke down on his bedroom floor. Remembers the heartbreaking cries leaving his best friend's mouth as he sobbed and sobbed, loud and clearly uncaring. Remembers watching in real time as his best friend hit his breaking point. There was nothing he could do to fix this. They couldn’t escape. Charlie couldn’t escape. All they could do was turn around and face whatever was coming their way head on.

Charlie was bored out of his goddamn mind. He was currently laying starfished on his bed just staring at the ceiling because… well because it's all he could really do.
He'd been out of hospital for about a week now and everything was just shit. He was stuck at home, completely unable to do anything, even his school work. He couldn't watch TV or look at his phone, doctor's orders. The one time he'd tried to check his phone just to see what time it was, he'd had a horrifically painful headache for the next half an hour.
Nick had been the one good thing about this whole debacle. Like clockwork he'd been at Charlie's every single day after school, staying until his mum kicked him out. It'd been the only time Charlie actually had something to take him out of his mind-numbing boredom.

Oliver Spring didn't understand a lot of the things his family talked about. Usually, he didn't have to. They talked about big people things, and Oliver wasn't a big people yet. But right now he really wished he was a big people because he didn't really understand what was going on.
That was when Nick had explained to him why Charlie was gone for so long. Apparently his head got hit really hard, and it hurt his brain. For his brain to heal, he needed to be left alone so it could rest. Nick had told him it was like when he woke up in the morning and he didn't like bright lights or loud noises right away, and that kind of made sense. But instead of waiting for his brain to wake up, Charlie was waiting for his brain to heal, which was going to take a while.
It made Oliver sad. He didn't like that his brother was hurt. Nick agreed with him, saying he didn't like that Charlie was hurt either. Oliver understood why Nick looked sad after seeing Charlie now.

This wasn’t part of their Paris itinerary. This was not in their plans. And it was undoubtedly going to call a shit ton of unwanted attention to him. Something he was desperately trying to avoid on this trip. He didn’t want to cause a scene in Paris of all places.
He glanced up when he heard the bathroom door open. “What’s wrong?” Nick asked.
Charlie briefly hung his head and let out a humorless laugh, sounding a bit insane even to his own ears. He watched in real time as Nick’s eyes comically widened.
“Oh… my god.” He spoke in what could only be described was pure disbelief.
“Eh heh.” Charlie spoke as he was beginning to process the situation they had found themselves in. Truly, this would only happen to them.
“Di-did I do that?” Nick asked, still in shock.
Charlie gave him an incredulous look. “No, Nick, it was Tao who was sucking on my neck last night. Of course you did it!” He hissed through clenched teeth, watching as Nick’s face flushed scarlet at Charlie’s bluntness.
