All around him, innocent civilians were scurrying around, trying to get to safety. There were thirteen shots that Peter could count. There may have been more, he hadn't been sure. He stopped counting after three had hit Aunt May.

The second May took her last breath in his arms, another piece of Peter Parker died with her. Nothing would ever be the same, but thankfully, Tony Stark didn't plan on leaving his side anytime soon.

When Peter caught sight of Morgan, he finally let go. His body went slack, and the last thing his brain registered was everyone's hearts racing.

When four men ambush the lakehouse, it's up to Peter to protect his little sister. If there was a threat to her life, his only mission was to protect her, even if it cost him his life. She was his top priority.

He looked at where they were shooting and truly almost had a heart attack. Steve, Sam, Peter, and Bruce were screaming and running around the common room like headless chickens. Thor stood in the center of all of the madness, happily eating a Pop-Tart as he watched the scene unfold. How he wasn't getting caught in the crossfire, Tony would never know.

“Petey,” Morgan whispers to him. She lifts one of her small hands and pokes at the corner of his lips, before playfully trying to tug it upwards with a small smile. A smile full of childhood innocence. “Rain, rain, go away, come again another day. Pete and Momo want to play, come again another day,” she says, voice quiet but cherubic and hopeful.
She's trying to cheer him up, and to that, Peter lets out a laugh as more tears fall down. He taps Morgan's nose, fighting to keep his lip from quivering. “Sun, sun, out you stay, warm us up for all the day. Pete and Momo want to play, warm us up for all the day,” he whispers back to her.
His voice cracks, but still, he smiles, happy to at least have Morgan by his side.

Rhodey crouches down, bowing his head as he and Tony sit in silence, surrounded by New Yorkers who watch on with solemnity. None of them know who Peter Parker was, but they all know he was one of them. Peter Parker was just a kid. A kid who saved a little girl's life only ten minutes ago.
And now, the people of New York stand around him, mourning a young boy who died saving a life.
But Tony is the one who has to hold his child, knowing that he’ll never be able to hear Peter’s laugh again. He’ll never be able to hold him again. He’ll never be able to kiss him goodnight, or cuddle with him, or praise his work in the lab.
Tony is the one who has to hold Peter Parker, his child’s blood staining the streets of Queens.

As his eyes roll to the back of his head, and consciousness leaves him, he hears metal slamming into asphalt.
