Summary
Faith’s itching to let her anger out. Bash someone’s face in. Vampire, demon, Angel, Buffy, literally whoever.
Actually, scratch that. She doesn’t want to bash B’s face in. As much as Faith’s fucking pissed at her, she likes that face too much. That face that, for the briefest window of time, looked at Faith with so much affection she started to wonder if maybe there was something going on there.
She wonders what would’ve happened if things had never gone sour. Sure, Buffy’s an uptight, prudish bitch with a shocking capacity for stupidity, but doesn’t it get to a point? How many times had Faith called her girlfriend? How many compliments had she given the girl? How many hours had they spent together?
And Faith just knows B went home from patrol every night hyper aware of what she had said the day they met. Hungry and horny. Did she feel it, the sensation of want, low in her stomach, created by the physical exertion? Did she justify it as hunger or did she face it head on?
Or: Faith's in a coma, and her mind wanders to predictable places.

Summary
Being a Slayer comes with all sorts of physical enhancements—abnormal strength, heightened reflexes, vampire tinglies, that sort of thing.
Good aim doesn’t automatically come with the package. That is a skill honed with every vampire and demon slain.
And after a couple years living in Sunnydale, Buffy’s a damn good shot.
When she’s in the middle of a fight, she goes on autopilot. She lets her body do what it does best. Her arm will aim for the heart. She’ll kill the monster. She’ll save the day.
Buffy sinks the dagger into the chest of her enemy, panting from the physical exertion. It's a routine she knows well.
Only, it’s different.
Because she just stabbed Faith. In the heart.
Or: Season 3 ends worse.

Summary
Something is very wrong with Buffy. She is dirty and definitely, very, extremely evil. She is in bed with the enemy, literally, and she deserves divine punishment for it. She is betraying her sacred duty, she is contributing to the end of the world, she is…
…currently getting fingered in a secluded corner of Restfield Cemetery by one Faith Lehane. Buffy feels unclean and wrong and bad. She also feels more alive than she’s ever felt, and very turned on.
Or: Buffy runs into Faith on patrol.

Summary
“I don’t know. It’s like, I just need…” Buffy really doesn’t want to admit what she needs. Not here, not to Faith. “…something.”
“Something,” Faith repeats.
“I guess you’d call it a little uh,” Buffy says, cringing at the sound of her own grunt.
Faith laughs. It feels like she’s laughing at Buffy. “Now you’re speaking my language, B. You’re horny.”
“Yeah,” Buffy murmurs. She really shouldn’t be. That’s not who she is. Faith is the loud, horny Slayer and Buffy is the good Slayer who occasionally gets herself off under the covers, in the dark, all guilty-like.
“I can help,” Faith says casually. Buffy’s taken aback, because what? They just established neither of them are gay and now Faith’s offer to, what, get Buffy off?
“Huh?”
“I scratch your itch, you scratch mine,” Faith says, like it’s no big deal.
Or: bad girls, but gayer.

Summary
“Fine. Faith, come with me?” Buffy asks, in a tone she hopes adequately expresses how not a question it is.
“Sir, yes, sir,” Faith says, and…
Look. Look. Everyone knows there was something between them senior year. Faith knows it, Willow knows it, Spike knows it, Dawn knows it, and—though it took her a while to figure out—Buffy knows it now. And she can’t say she’s over it exactly, but she’s moved on. Had two serious, emotionally devastating relationships since then. She’s not actively thirsting over the ‘crazy murderer chick’ anymore.
Really it’s Spike’s fault that her thighs clench at Faith calling her sir. Buffy could’ve lived out her life having boring sex with normal men, denying any sort of interest in freakiness but no, he just had to go and show her she likes handcuffs and chains and domination. And it’s Faith’s fault, too. Joking like that when she knows how crazy she makes Buffy. These two are evil and co-conspiring her downfall. Stupid Buffy, always falling for the evil ones with nice abs and that hungry look in their eyes.
Or: Buffy gets Faith alone. Things escalate from there.

Summary
Dawn crosses her arms at Faith. “You gonna follow her?”
“I gotta, Dawn,” Faith says.
“You’re pathetic, you know that? Can’t you see she’s using you?”
“I know she’s using me. But I don’t fucking care.”
“God, why can’t you care?” Dawn asks, exasperated.
Because it’s fun. Because it feels good to be wanted and cared for and needed. Because it’s been too long since she’s had a good lay. Because Buffy is the closest to a god Faith’s ever gotten, including her fifteen-year upbringing in Catholicism. Because she’s wanted this for years. Because she can’t believe Buffy wants it too, and she’s not going to waste the opportunity. Because she can’t say no to Buffy. Because Buffy looks at Faith and for a minute she can believe that she’s more than a lowly fucking dog.
Because it’s Buffy.
Or: Buffy gets to the Bronze sooner. Faith just can't help herself.

Summary
“That girl of yours gave me a proper beating before I left,” Spike says.
“She’s not my girl,” Buffy says.
“You might not be hers, but she’s yours.”
“Not so sure about that anymore.”
“I’m sure. I’ve seen that look in myself—that high on Buffy Summers rot that ruins a man,” Spike says. “Or a woman, apparently.”
“I’m so tired of ruining people,” Buffy sighs.
Spike's face softens. “Buffy, I didn’t– I just mean you’re bloody brilliant and brilliance can be maddening.”
“Just once I’d like to be unbrilliant,” Buffy says, frowning.
Or: Faith, Buffy, and one night in an empty house.

Summary
Buffy is pissed off.
She should be relieved or happy or tired or anything but instead she’s angry. Angry that Spike is gone and that she finally told him she loved him and he didn’t believe it. Sure, she’s been fucking Faith a lot lately, but he knows—knew—better than anyone that she could still care for him. Whatever. It’s complicated.
Spike’s dead and it’s fucking complicated. And her entire home is gone forever along with all her stuff which isn’t important when Spike’s dead, but she still cares. (The weapons chest Xander made her. Mr. Gordo. Spike’s lighter. All of it.)
So she’s not relieved. She’s not excited to be alive when maybe Spike’s somewhere where Buffy could join him—not heaven, but maybe? He has—had—a soul now and he was all do-goody and repenty. How stupid are you? Obviously he’s not in heaven.
Even when he was good, he wasn’t all that good, that bitter, hurt part of Buffy reminds hers.
Or: The hellmouth is gone, and Buffy has nothing to do for the first time in years. Except, well, Faith.
