If Wilbur knew how much trouble it was to take care of a human, he would have told Tommy to leave the first time he saw the younger. He loves the little human and sees him as a brother, but Tommy was something. Something he couldn’t describe.
The little human was sneaky, confusing, and mysterious. Something he wasn’t used to. It was frustrating. Humans were frustrating, and some days he just wished that he would wake up and Tommy would be, well, not confusing. He wishes some days Tommy would just be a species from space, maybe even his own, a phantom.

“It’s mine! You’re not taking it!” The Dreamon hissed. The creature snatched the human up, which caused it to release a pained noise. Techno cringed inwardly at the position it was in. It looked weak and malnourished, nothing like he’d expected.
“The thing looks like it’s beats away from death, surely you should just-“
Techno raised his hands and started to inch towards the Dreamon, cautious not to draw too much attention to him. The other noticed and jerked the human further into the air, and Techno couldn’t ignore the pained whimpers escaping the humans mouth.

Tommy wasn't that hungry, if he was honest. He had just found a whole bush of berries! And being the big man he was, the boy had eaten them even though they were all too ripe and rottenly sweet.
He had been out there for a few weeks now, he thought. Maybe it was more or less time, seeing as Tommy didn't have a phone or a watch. He had lost count of the days and nights awhile ago.
And he wasn't lost! Not at all. This was all a tactical decision to run off into the woods and…not be able to find his way back out. Yeah. He was fine. Not like he wanted to be found anyways…

Tommy pressed a hand to the window. The sharp chill settled deep into the bones of his fingers, a stark reminder that this wasn’t a dream. His breath fogged the glass as he stared into the open expanse of space, at the endless sea of stars that he could see from so far away, yet seemed close enough to touch.
The creature outside moved closer, and Tommy locked eyes with it. Slowly, almost gingerly, it pressed a palm against the glass, directly over Tommy’s own. It was green like the rest of its translucent skin, and unmistakably human.
Tommy stared out from the silent bridge of the ship, and the impossible stared back.

Wilbur cups Tommy's cheeks with both his hands. His long thin fingers reaching to the top of Tommy's temple.
"Hey starlight, are you okay? Why are you… crying?" He has to think for a moment about the word he was looking for but it came to him. Crying isn't anything any other space traveller can do. Apparently humans are the only ones that can.
(You wouldn't believe the panic they all had when Tommy first started crying when he saw a sunrise on Planet MOC149)
Tommy sniffles and lets out a shaky breath. The anxiety of watching Tommy's eyes go red from the salty tears that escape him does not help for Wilburs worries right now.
"Its… I'm okay. I was just… it was just…"
He still can't quite let the words he wants out. Continuing to try and breath.
"Did I do something wrong?"
At rhs question, Tommy looks up at Wilbur with a bit of surprise on his face.
But it scrunches up as he shakes his head.
"No." He says weakly, sobs shaking his chest as he continues to shake his head.
"No, you did everything right."
