“Deported, Evan. You didn’t fill out some paperwork on time, Copeland said she tried to call.”
There’s a knock at the door, and then in walks Diaz.
“Sorry, sorry to interrupt. Mr. Buckley, Carla’s on the line and she’s requesting your attention as soon as possible, says it’s an emergency,” Diaz is good, damn him, for a second Buck actually thought Carla needed him, and he’s taking a moment to breathe as Diaz keeps lying. “I told her you were engaged in a meeting, but she insisted, so…” Diaz trails off, looking at Buck oddly and that’s fair, because Buck’s staring at him like he's the solution to every puzzle in the world.
He just might be.

The doors to the elevator opened to his floor and Mu Qing saw a familiar gray blazer disappear into his office and the first name that came to mind fell from his mouth. “Feng Xin.” He said, and immediately he kicked himself. Feng Xin? Really?
