Karl knew forgetting everything was a possibility. Inevitable. But he didn't think he'd forget about forgetting. But when the in-between dropped him off in the middle of nowhere, no memories of who he was or why he was bleeding out and poisoned, well, it's not like he remembered forgetting. Only, why was the pretty winged man calling him Karl? And holding him so gently? Did they know each other? His mind shut down before he could ask any of those questions.
Or basically, Karl forgets everything, stumbles into Los Nevadas where Quackity finds him and takes care of him.
