Logan is dangerous. Plaques warning visitors and townfolk alike of the hostile and brutal nature of the bandits, headed by Logan, were littered all over Sandrock and the outlying villages. She was instructed to heed the advice and be vigilant.
The day the water tower fell, the figure jumped the train tracks, narrowly missed the train, and stopped to rear-up his goat in front of her workshop. “Logan.” Turning, their eyes met, and for a split second, time stood still. Sadness and compassion behind them. She let him go.
In a cruel turn of events, she was separated from Justice and Unsuur, on their quest to follow Rambo into Logan’s hideout. Inside: Navigating a series of puzzles with real deadly consequences. Succeeding only to be met by Haru and his machines. Exhausted and beaten she faces Logan. He attacks her. Defending herself, crosses his daggers with her blade. It was a dance, slowly timed and beautifully fluid, with sharp objects. His strength she matched with cunning and precision. Neither of them was willing to yield. Grace intervenes. The fight ends. It was just the beginning.

Basically, it's the morning after the cornered beast mission - Sophie and Logan just got together (although neither verbally said anything about it). Andy thought getting Logan together with Sophie would mean Logan would quit burning his meals, but no. Sorry, Andy. An experimental subject is smuggled out of the Duvos Empire after his handler gains a conscience, now being sent to Sandrock the newly named Conri must grapple with what exactly it means to "learn to live as a human" and figure out why he was sent to Sandrock under the false guise of their new builder. As he slowly begins to settle in the town Conri meets the notorious bandit Logan, who in Conri's eyes seems strangely protective of Sandrock as well begin to unravel the strange mystery as to why Sandrock is not thriving as it should and why for some reason do certain people in the town remind him of those who worked for Duvos.

Constantine has settled into her life in Sandrock well. She enjoys the life she’s set up for herself; the occasional social and political issues common place and easy enough for the Builder to deal with. Her little slice of desert is home now and she wouldn't have it any other way.
With the issues of Logan and the "disappearing water" becoming an almost daily problem, though she is finding more and more keeps being put on her plate by the townspeople. Just when the dust is settling again, Constantine is presented with a new challenge when the Church of the Light places Andy in her care.
The little “ex-bandit” grows on Constantine quickly, and she finds herself inseparable from the kid, and so deeply entangled with the growing issues in Sandrock that she’s not sure she could dig her way out with even the best of pickhammers.Series

Close to three years on the run. A couple weeks in the crucible of a Duvosian invasion. Five days in Sandrock's jail.
Without fanfare, Logan's future is suddenly now. He knows he's got Haru and Andy. He knows he wants Lucy.
But when she welcomes him home with open arms, Logan's first day as an ostensibly absolved man becomes a day spent excavating the past and sharing secrets he'd tried to bury under years of sand.
This story is a prequel to Birds of Paradise. My goal with this fic is to share my take on Logan and Lucy's first free day together in the immediate aftermath of Logan's return to society. If I've done a decent job with it, it will be intimate, emotionally heavy, sweet, and eventually steamy.
We'll be dealing with some intense themes, including serious injuries, near-death experiences, and references to past suicidal ideation. Please mind the TWs in chapter notes. 💙
