Pochi couldn't understand why, but for over a week now, a bad feeling had clung to him like a wet blanket. It was an unsettling intuition that there was something deeply wrong—a "gut feeling," as Pai had put it.
He was told that humans experienced stomach aches when something bad was going to happen. At least, that's how he understood it. And he was experiencing whatever the robot-equivalent of that was.

Two years after MAIK's reign of terror ended, everyone had adjusted and began moving on. Pochi still found his mind wandering to the past far more than he would have liked, but he never felt like he was falling behind developmentally, even if his body never aged. The same could not be said for Reycho, however. This made him subject to scrutiny, especially from Kansai. Pochi wanted to grow up like everyone else, but he didn't want to leave Reycho behind.
Sometimes, paths branched off, and there was nothing to be done about it. Pochi and Reycho had to learn this the hard way.
