It seemed silly to be afraid of a little mushroom, but when that mushroom was a genetically modified war experiment that was currently running rampant in her home, and it was known for taking control of the host and literally devouring the brain of the host, plus reanimating the dead… yeah, it was understandable that most people were afraid of a fungus
The fungus consumed everything, always looking for a new host, always needing more nutrition. Everyone was infected with spores from the fungus, it was impossible to avoid that, but the spores themselves were weak and unable to do much.
The real problem came when the spores were able to take control and start growing. That only happened when their host dies, or when the host got a sudden energy boost, generally from evolution.
Those consumed and controlled by the fungus are at least noticeably different, with mushroom caps growing all of their decaying bodies. Truly a horrific sight, especially when they’re in groups, and accompanied by the stench of decay.

The world is once more in disarray as violent "infected" Pokemon out of this world start randomly appearing and wreaking havoc. Ouka Yotsuba has always dreamed of partnering up with a Human-turned-Pokemon and saving the world like in the stories of old, and now that the world is again in need of saving, she believes it's finally her time to shine.
On her sixteenth hatchday, she seems to finally get her wish as she comes across a supposedly amnesiac Espurr. However, it's increasingly obvious this Pokemon is not at all what Ouka or anyone else thinks they are.

14 Pokemon find themselves in their own disaster in the world of Pokemon Mystery Dungeon. They are trapped in the wilderness and told that they're given lives. On their last life they're given a new ability to initiate and kill their fellow participants; every day "Blights" will be chosen, those that are Blights must kill one Pokemon above 1 life or be reduced to a single life themselves. Losing all of your lives means you die, and only one can make it out alive.
A crossover between the Life Series and Pokemon Mystery Dungeon. The rules stay relatively the same, but the world stays closer to the latter.
