Inside the server, the terrain was bare — a half-finished hangout game they’d coded as a joke during an all-nighter. There was a giant golden statue of a noob with Builderman’s hat on it. Telamon remembered placing it at 4 a.m., just to see if he could make David laugh.Now it stood alone, covered in virtual vines.
And then, just as the sun set over the blocky sky, Builderman spawned in.
No gear. Just his old starter skin.“You came,” he said in chat.
Telamon stood still. Then typed:
“Guess I missed this more than I thought.”

The skybox above them was stuck in a sunset loop — warm orange streaks frozen against low-resolution clouds. Builderman hadn’t changed the settings. Telamon noticed that immediately. The game was untouched. Nostalgic.Builderman’s avatar moved with hesitation, like even now he was testing the code beneath his feet. Like any glitch might break the illusion.
“Didn’t think you’d actually show,” Builderman typed again.
“Didn’t think you still used that email,” Telamon replied.
“I don’t. Just for you.”Telamon didn’t type back.
There were old models in the distance — ungrouped, sloppy things. A half-made brick castle, a suspended baseplate with sparkles for no reason. Telamon wandered toward them, his avatar’s blocky feet clicking softly on the terrain.
Behind him, Builderman followed.
They stopped near a cluster of old dev items. A rocket launcher. A linked sword. The iconic fedora Telamon used to script into every test map just to flex.
“I left it all here,” Builderman typed. “Couldn’t delete it.”
> “Because you’re sentimental,” Telamon typed.
“Because I was hoping someday you’d log in again,” came the reply.A pause.
Then:
> “...You were the only one who knew what this meant to me.”
“We built it,” Telamon responded. “Every spawnpoint, every line of Lua. We gave it a soul.”Builderman’s avatar turned to face him.
“Do you ever miss it?”

“Builderman why does this rainbow cake say faggot in cursive?” Luke deadpanned. Telamon doubled over, slamming his fist onto the wooden table as he recreated the noise a balloon makes when you let it go without tying and it rockets off while deflating. Doombringer let out what sounded like a horse’s death rattle as he opened the box nearest to him. They all said the same thing. “Oh my God.”
“Happy pride month, everybody.” Builderman snorted. Everybody began rummaging through the bags, passing them around to each other as they were all named. Builderman had gotten them all gifts. Nothing too expensive since he had to pay for all of them, along with some of the other Admins, but stuff he thought they’d like. Telamon got a shirt that said ‘I ❤️ Fried Chicken’, Dusekkar got a pumpkin lamp that had multicolored lighting settings, Doombringer was given a bag of caramel creams, Scripter… wait— “Scripter why are you here?” Builderman said suddenly. He had got him a bag and everything, but the teenager had been fired a while ago. Or was he hired again? Builderman couldn’t remember at this point. He had gotten the boy all the makings of slime and some Taco Bell.
“I work here.” Scripter spoke it all so quickly it sounded like one word. He was definitely fired, then. Builderman just shrugged. Although Scripter always managed to get into some kind of trouble, he never actually took the boy off of payroll even when he said he was fired. Scripter was only sixteen, and plus, he refused to get other jobs besides Roblox. He always bragged about it to all his friends, and Builderman thought it was good since he knew what other teenagers were into so they could follow trends better. Bright gasped as she saw her gift, a decently-big plushie of Nyan Cat. He bought Sorcus a hat with a large, low-poly fish embroidered on it. Clockwork was given a Cube™, Luke was given a trollface-themed pajama set.
