Marian met Cable as one of the two surviving applicants for X-Force. His cold mannerism and treatment of everyone in his surroundings was enough to keep her at a distance until one day he confides in her that he needs a place to stay. Sharing a flat with someone as taciturn as him was bound to be easy; no interaction, no awkward conversations, no pretending to like each other, just silence. Everything seemed to work perfectly for the both of them until they realized that some odd ebullition of emotion had thwarted their plan of remaining so devoid of one another's attention.
