Vex was terrified. That wasn't fair at all. After all, she had to lead this ragtag bunch of anarchists into the fight of what would probably be their short, albeit eventful, lives. It was hard to do that when all she could feel was her heart thundering in her chest. No, it wasn't fair at all. It wasn't right.
Because those monsters had taken her brother. Her brother who was sweet and kind and bloody good with daggers. She loved him so much, more than she ever really said. She realised now that she probably didn't tell him that enough. Just another one to add to her list of flaws.
Except this one was different, because she wasn't sure she'd get another chance to tell him just how much he meant to her.
Or, after everything with the Briarwoods, Vex just wants Vax to be okay. It would really make her feel much better if he could just manage to talk to her about whatever was wrong. Because, clearly, something was.

That hits Vax like a punch to the gut and he lets out a breath. The thought of losing Percy is too painful to contemplate.
“We’ll go with you. We’ll all go with you, you know? You won’t be fighting alone,” Vax says with all sincerity and determination to make it so. “Until then, you’re right. We should enjoy each other’s company for as long as we can. Because this is good. It feels really good.”

“I’m sorry,” he said, for what felt like the thousandth time. But he meant it. He truly did. “I know now… I know my life isn’t my own. My life is all of yours. My life is my sister’s. My life is, this castle’s. My life belongs to Whitestone, and to all of you. I won’t try to take it again.”
As Vax looked at this terribly broken person he now knew he loved unconditionally, he struggled not to cry. Percy was lost and broken, it was glaringly obvious, but there was a part of what he’d said that reminded Vax painfully of himself. Maybe what Percy had said wasn’t the healthiest thing in the world, but for now, it was a start. For the moment, it was enough.
This world was not an easy place to live. To exist was to feel pain, but in that moment, he was sure of one thing. They would make it through, together, because there were things that made life worth living, and theirs stood in front of them.

Summary
During their travels in the Feywild, even Garmelie’s assistance can’t stop Vox Machina from wandering into trouble. It is, after all, what they do best. Percival al is still reeling from the discovery that his deal with Alastor is still not broken. Though the demon remains silent and out of his head, Percy is left to figure out his new abilities with the help of his friends; though they find it just as confusing as he does. Percy has never liked magic much but when the Chroma Conclave make their attack on Emon he is grateful for the extra power.
