And has to fight against the one she cares for most. Can Adora help Catra find the light or is she doomed to fail?
Based on a silly idea me and my friend Penumbranox kicked around.

(Rated Mature for the Catra POV Narration more than anything.)
Basically, Hordak is Galra, a former Imperial scientist, and Shadow Weaver is Altean, they were part of a joint mission to find new planets together right before the war broke out between their two peoples. Mara was on the mission and was also Altean, and She-Ra had always been before that.
When they got news of the war breaking out, the crew of the research mission took sides. Hordak got most of them under his banner in Scorpia's Kingdom/The Fright Zone, along with some of the native people there, as the first generation of the Horde.
Mara tried to stop him, but couldn't, so she moved Etheria into a pocket dimension that no communications could get in or out of, to protect the Heart of Etheria from falling into Zarkon's hands.
Shadow Weaver tried to scheme her way into ruling Mystacor, and joined Hordak when that failed.
Ten thousand years passed.
Now, Light Hope has just moved Etheria back through the portal at the end of Season 4.
Instead of Horde Prime coming to Etheria and capturing Catra, Glimmer and Hordak, it's Zarkon. Events follow from there. -

Adora Anderson (bass, vocals) and Catra Lopez (guitar, vocals) used to front the best band you've never heard of, Columbus Ohio's own Demolition Boys. Not quite Riot Grrrl, not quite grunge, but full of the attitude of both and their very own insanity, their music was always on the cusp of breaking into the mainstream. But it never did, and now, in 2004, both Catra and Adora have long since parted ways. Until an ambitious concert promoter, Mermista Mehta, finds them both in Chicago and tries to get them to bring the band back together.
This is the Sex Drugs and Rock'n'Roll AU, set amid the indie rock boom of the early 2000's and the smouldering wreckage of the grunge era of the 90's. This fic is told in a combination of normal narrative prose (primarily from Adora's POV) and interviews, articles and music reviews covering several decades. Real people will be referred to but not appear in the fic. No rock stars were harmed in the making of this fan fic, though some music critics will be mocked.
This is a Catradora fic with other relationships in the background and in the past. Polyamory is also a factor here, but any pairings will occur with the agreement of all parties. No cheating.

The day starts off normally enough.
Catra’s out on her own, tracking down a small cluster of clones that have taken it upon themselves to continue following Horde Prime, even though he’s fucking dead. It’s stupid and dumb and Catra hates that she has to do this, but somebody has to, so it might as well be her.
Adora hates that it has to be her.
But….Catra can’t help with the rebuilding efforts. She just can’t. She wants to, desperately. She wants to fix everything that she broke, damn what happens to her and how long it takes.
The people of Etheria though….they don’t want that.
(Catra goes out to capture some of Horde Prime's Clones, and stumbles on something from her past in the process)

Summary
Despite any stigma against it, I have always found the potential of "Tenth Walker" fics to be incredibly fascinating, and have only encountered two in my life that not only completed the story but that I felt were worth the read. That being said, despite having made it to the end of the War of the Ring, neither of these stories conclusions sat well with me for a series of personal reasons.
So after an image of a particular character joining the Fellowship found its way into my mind, I have decided to give it a go for myself. My only hope is that the reader finds as much enjoyment in reading the story as I have writing it.
